YdF, I would "grab for the water" but Lz already rosted you. I let the feast to other people, though, I just had my breakfast (this said to stay polite).
Ln, what a strange idea, new to me, as I would never had associate coït with a rape, as it seems to me that the signification of coit is the copulation of one female and one male, and not one or more beasts with a human being.
TFG is, indeed an efficient little machine, no ordinary novel, it loades the reader with density, englued the world in density, then without warning... well I can not tell and spoil the experience of people who had not read it yet.
FYS, I did not say the plot is about Canadian History, only that this was a layer of the story, but a real one. He is making a constant round trip between the past and the present (and even the future: the (non-)end)). For example, and those examples came to my mind spontaneously, you may find others as better or much better - I think at Guerre et Paix (Dostoïvsky) and Du côté de chez Swann (Proust). Though both books are witness of the society of their time and country, they are also international, 'cause, as Tom stressed it...

This is to all members from the moderator.
This thread was about the French Canadians and Beautiful Losers.
The topic should not be changed suddenly. There are other threads dealing with the Kelley Lynch/Agile/Cohen case. I prefer to have all comments on that topic in the threads that clearly deal with it ("artist vs. con-artist" and "..bigger than money" threads).
I want to keep this Forum as censorship-free as possible: it is open to all opinions. So far I have only deleted commercial (porn etc.) messages and certain messages that are far too insulting to another member, or that have been sent using another member's or person's identity.
Keeping the individual threads within original topics is no censorship. To follow that policy I tried to move certain messages in this thread to the "artst vs con-artist" thread, but after testing it with two last messages yesterday I found out that individual messages cannot be moved (and so we also lost those two to the cyber-space); it seems that only a whole thread could be moved from one section to another. In the future I reserve the right to delete any messages that are in "wrong" threads; however, the sender will be notified and the deleted text quoted to him/her in private message so that he/she may re-post it in the thread it belongs to.

Jarkko, -
"I feel your pain."
It occurred to me, too late, that you just might possibly
have wanted to have left the impression that all posts
are fixed and eternal and can't be moved around,
--thinking that: --only then will people be sure
to put the time and effort into making all their posts
good and appropriate and on topic.
And that I blew it for you!
But then I immediately slapped myself for having
entertained for even one second the thought that
you could possibility be that cynical!
--
And then I thought about it again.
However, it wouldn't have worked anyway.
(- you have to be a lot more cynical than that,
to be the good shepherd.)
---
The 'Forum' should always have been the place for the
more formal things. The on topic things.
The newsgroup was the appropriate place for all the rest of it.
I still don't understand why it didn't work out that way.

Tchoco,
I don't remember the book so freshly, but I don't think that all coituses (?) in the book were rape... Or I am wrong? There was some love triangle and much love making (maybe some in unusual way... hmm?Ln, what a strange idea, new to me, as I would never had associate coït with a rape, as it seems to me that the signification of coit is the copulation of one female and one male, and not one or more beasts with a human being

Linda, I was that he referred to FG (or, as Tchoco says, TFG

I mistaken D for T, (G_d!). It was Tolstoï. how I could have done this to poor Léon?
Tom, I refer to the book by its title : The Favourite Game
The title is not "Favourite Game" as well as "BL" is not The Beautifyl Losers", but "Beautiful Losers". Jes, if the confusion begins there, we will have fun for the rest.
"and much love making (maybe some in unusual way... hmm?"
As you have notice, this was not always coït, young man, each sexual practice is called by "its name". Or at least not post-coital things.
Retain what you want for your paper, however, it's yours work, but cite Linda it you use her idea, it is the gentleman's mark.

Misunderstanding doesn't begin anywhere because there's no any misunderstandings between you and me, particularly in our opinion about BL, as I was delighted by all your recent posts about that novel; I believe you're right with TFG instead of mine FG, I probably though you don't abbreviate "the" same as we don't count it while listing titles alphabetically (Favourite Game, The); why do you think I'd not cite Linda as I quote absolutely everything I quite in my texts; do you say I am not gentleman?

Stop talking about the coit of him, the burps of young "coca" freud and others hopes and useless things.
As a Quebecer, first, i can tell you that the political situation is disastreous since we got the "scandal des commandites", Quebec independance is more on its way than lasts years.
The dream is still growing up.
And for Leonard's opinion, I think your bets are obvious.
It is HIS opinion.
Let it to him.
A vote is secret a think...and WISH.
If Freud was still alive, do you think he would be downloading Child Porn on his Pc? Think

Thanks a lot.
But i must confess that I was still reading the threads.
A lack of interest in topics probably...
But i'm only here to get a better average, because Jarkko will be cruel and remove my picture from the beautiful losers gallery.
It's only a matter of ego
