Dear Kush,
Well, maybe Spruce Bingsteen told it good then; yet, given your passion for the works of B.D., you surely will agree that the ultimate apocryphal intimation of global warning was given over 42 years ago.......

Weather Report

(as read/sung/written by Bob Dylan)

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone.
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

The Weather Report
(as read by His Bobness)

Now the rain man gave me two cures,
Then he said, "Jump right in."
The one was Texas medicine,
The other was railroad gin.
An' like a fool I mixed them
An' it strangled up my mind,
An' now people just get uglier
An' I have no sense of time.

Oh Suzannah
Don't know who wrote this, but I love Burl Ives singing it
It rained all night the day I left
The weather it was dry
The sun so hot I froze do death
Suzannah, don’t you cry

Fire and Rain
James Taylor
I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain
I’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I’ve seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I’d see you again

Sunshine, Lollipops And Rainbows
Lesley Gore
Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is what I feel when we're together,
Brighter than a lucky penny,
When you're near the rain cloud disappears, dear,
And I feel so fine just to know that you are mine.

Now go brush your teeth

OH how could I forget. A friend of mine was married last October and his now wife loves karioke. His name is Wayne. I thought it would be fun to replace rain with Wayne

Purple Wayne, purple Wayne
It's Wayning men have mercy it's Wayning men
I was standing in the Wayne for hours you were late
Wayne Wayne go away come again another day
Wayne drops keep falling on my head  (my personal favourite)
I felt the Wayne down in Africa
Blame it on the Wayne....

Weather report
As read by John Leyton
(I hear a collective cry of Who?)

When the mist is risin', the rain is fallin',
The wind is blowing cold across the moor,
I hear the voice of my darlin',
The girl I love, and lost a year ago.

(From "Johnny, remember me")

Who?

Ginger from the Biggles TV serial in the early sixties, of course. Who doesn't know that? ;)

Actually I didnt invent "His Bobness"....saw it somewhere. But I agree, this disease is highly contagious....yesterday I found myself e-mailing someone about a Roost Stingbeen CD.

His Bobness is one weird dude though.....I hear he is not only gonna pitch for a Starbucks coffee called 'Gaslight' but is also gonna appear in a Home Cooking TV show where His Bobness will visit some fans homes and cook his favorite dishes. I hope it is a joke...atleast the latter part.

I heard about the Starbucks connection tonight on a UK radio show. It seems it's a genuine deal. The comedy news show "The Now Show" on Radio 4 did a good parody of one of his songs using the words " the beans they are a grinding....."

Starbucks? Cooking shows? I hesitate to even speculate on what may be the reason for such ... weirdness.

Margaret, are you sure the rendition wasn't "the bucks they are a flowin'"?
Why is it that I can make a week's worth of groceries come to no more than $20 Canadian, yet for those who really don't have to sing for their supper anymore, their public misery knows no bounds?

I like Starbucks. The coffee is usually too hot, and the price too high, but the coffee's ok.

I have no problem if DJ Bobo is doing all this to keep the bucks a-flowin'. I have always been led to believe that pursuit of health, wealth and wisdom are high and noble pursuits. Unfortunately I suspect he is not doing it for money but out of sheer boredom. The guy is rolling in money. But he doesnt know what else to do in life other than a 100 shows a year for the last 15 years. And a little Victoria's Secret pitch here and a Starbucks there probably relieves the tedium. Still, whatever rocks your boat...

Yep. I guess you're right. Still with the ability to access whatever he needs to keep boredom at bay, doesn't this seem a little..uh..well you said it first, weird? Oh, well, again, as you said, whatever rocks your boat. I wish I had a boat to rock. Victoria's Secret you say? Sssshh...secret...

Listening to my fav jazz collection THE SONGBOOK. The song Sometimes I'm Happy, sung be Sarah Vaughn is playing. Great song for my film....look on the inernet for lyrics Joni Mitchell Sometime I'm Happy..hey that can't be right ....look some more
In 1925, when Irving Ceasar, Clifford Grey, and Vincent Youmans wrote the gem "Sometimes I'm Happy",
Ok that's better.

Sometimes I'm happy
Sometimes I'm blue
My disposition depends on you
I never mind the rain from the skies
As long as I have the sun in your eyes

Weather report
as read by Del Shannon
(now I'm really showing my age).

I'M A-WALKING IN THE RAIN
TEARS ARE FALLING AND I FEEL THE PAIN
WISHING YOU WERE HERE BY ME
TO END THIS MISERY
AND I WONDER
I WHY WHY WHY WHY WONDER WHY
WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY SHE RAN AWAY
AND I WONDER
WHERE SHE WILL STAY
MY LITTLE RUNAWAY
MY RUN RUN RUN RUN RUNAWAY

Weather report
as read by Neil Sadaka

Strolling along country roads with my baby
It starts to rain, it begins to pour
Without an umbrella we're soaked to the skin
I feel a shiver run up my spine
I feel the warmth of her hand in mine

Oo, I hear laughter in the rain
Walking hand in hand with the one I love
Oo, how I love the rainy days
And the happy way I feel inside

After a while we run under a tree
I turn to her and she kisses me
There with the beat of the rain on the leaves
Softly she breathes and I close my eyes
Sharing our love under stormy skies
Cheers & DLight
