Hi Kush,
Yes, I generally like just about everything. I'm only getting a feel for 'what the kids listen to'. For a while I was in denial and couldn't listen to anything recorded after 1974. But, actually this site, in many ways, has pointed me in directions that I wouldn't ordinarily have gone. It's great. The more the merrier. A person can't have too much music. I've heard so much, but it's such an awful thing to not be able to actually own it all. I think most of us are the same. Diverse tastes.
See ya later,
Linda.

Hi Kush,
I probably should post this somewhere else, but I don't know where so this looks as good a place as any.
I was reading a book a year or so ago, a character in the book made tapes for her friends as gifts. Each a personal musical stamp of her friend. Sort of a musical DNA. I always thought that would be a nice thing to do for someone. Put together a collection of what you might think they'd like. Music (and books, natch) connect people in such a powerful way.
See you,
Linda.

Back to the video, Cohen's way of suggesting things, his talent for innuendo, is more interesting then things concretized in a video, however stupidly as in this one. Maybe he should avoid MTV like videos and just perform simply before the camera if he wishes to enter the visual realm.

Maybe the record company made him do it!

I still think it's a nice little video. Leonard hasn't really been known for 'big time' video, anyway. Not the kind that MTV spend all day playing. For his fans though, it's just nice to see Leonard doing his thing. Whatever that may be.

And I mean completely.
You may harass the whole thread with your trash, you may win some supporters in doing it, but it rests that having fun like a child without intention to harm anyone with laughters is a symbol. And it is a gift. Unfortunately, this is often called stupid. By some young and old grinches that ake at the places others are playing, maybe, whose laughters are poison to themselves and to those who swallows it. Sad that you can not accept this gift.
I think I'll go jump in the bed and laugh, to make a pint of good healthy blood. In the nude.

In the nude???? If we get webcam ... ah, never mind. Have fun. Play DH when you're jumping around.

Count me on the side with those who enjoyed this video.
In addition to the tongue-in-cheek pleasure that it brought me, it made me re-think the line, "...cover me up like a baby who is shivering." The image that line previously brought to me was one of a nurse/caretaker. The porthole image, the pajama party image, and the image of Leonard and Anjani dancing adds a nice appreciative juxtaposition of other age appropriate activity to the text of the song. I don't know how clearly I'm conveying this, but it cheered me up.

If you found my remarks so completely irrelevant then what are you doing coming back to this thread and commenting on them. Especially, since you said earlier that you "do not feel to play now."
I have just as much right to express a dissenting opinion about this video as you have to see S-Y-M-B-O-L-S all over the freaking place.
So go ahead, jump around on the bed in the nude...I don't mind. Just don't follow Leonard's example and make a stupid video about it.

I'm not sure whether this was intended as a criticism, but you've certainly driven a nail into the male head there, Dr Freud. I'll hold my hand up to that one even if I didn't see it in the video myself and don't believe it was intended.
A video is ultimately just a bit of fluff, so spending much energy on analysing it is a bit of a waste of time. But what I see in the video as the Cohen and Anjani characters dance is a shared moment with the bed bouncing nymphs a lifetime apart.
If you never used a bed as a trampoline as a child (which I'd find surprising) then clearly you've missed out on one of life's finer, and most innocent, moments - breasts or no breasts.

Well, you are right there. Dissenting opinions is what keeps the conversations moving.
I remember a remark you made about Leonard's "Bird on the Wire" concert, your dissenting remarks on that one, made me laugh out loud. In a good way. Everyone of us is not obligated to accept every LC offering without criticism. You obviously have your opinions and me mine, and others have theirs.
Apparently, the twain shall never meet on this one.

Just caught the video and loved it - I got the humour and warmth of it and managed not to be shocked. LC looked a little like Sean Connery and the whole thing had an opening Bond film credits feel to it - nice counterpoint to the lyric. Excellent Lorca!

Hi Diamondsinthemine,
Yes, it felt good to me as well. What really felt good was the picture of Leonard with U2 in the background. It is currently serving as my wallpaper. A very nice image.

Linda, sometimes I feel you are the kind of person who tells a joke and tells also when is it time to laugh it. What a great time this must be....
YDF, It was obvious that "now" was long pasted when you wrote you comment and when I wrote mine. The obvious does not seem your cup of tea. You are all entitled to this. And also to repeat your opinion ad nauseam.

Tchoco,
I'm not sure which post you're referring to, but I didn't 'tell any jokes' in this thread. I seldom 'tell jokes', barring SWITZ and his mole.
What you are reading is me. That's just the way I am. In this thread, I've been quite subdued (in my opinion). No jokes here.

Now where is a S-Y-M-B-O-l when you need one.

Unlike you, of course. Please tell us again what all the bouncing
really means.
