Would a hung parliament be a favourable option or is that not an effective way to run a country?

It very much depends on your area. If Lib-Dems were second last time it is worth a shot but if your area is Labour/Tory you are wasting your vote. And to be truthful I don't have much faith in Lib-Dem Charles Kennedy isn't exactly eluding confidence. I tend to agree with John I would opt for Michael Howard over Tony Blair but it would stick in my throat voting Tory and if Tony gets in he will wreck this country totally. They should have proportional representation. What did he get in with last time about 37% of the vote.

A hung parliament means a lot more talking and more consideration of other views. More give and take and compromises. A Middle Way? It might be an improvement on swinging between two extremes (though not so different over the last few years!)

when I said 'hung parliament' I meant hang the lot of them......only joking

seriously now.... I don't think there would be a lib/lab pact from what I gather when Charles Kennedy was asked the question.
Would it slow everything down? Maybe that would not be a bad idea.

I have only ever voted Lib-Dem, and I seriously believe that one day it will make a difference. I also believe in Santa Clause, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny!

Tony Blair, the British Prime Minister, is being shown around a hospital.
Towards the end of the visit, he is shown into a ward with a number people with no obvious signs of injury or disease.
He goes to greet the first patient and the chap replies:
"Fair fa' your honest sonsie face, Great chieftain e' the puddin' race! Aboon
them a' ye tak your place, Painch, tripe, or thairm; Weel are ye wordy o' a
grace as lang's my arm."
Tony, being somewhat confused (easily done) goes to the next patient and greets him. The patient replies: "Some hae meat, and canna eat, and some wad eat that want it, but we hae meat and can eat, and sae the Lord be thankit."
The third starts rattling off as follows:
"Wee sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous beastie, O, what a panic's in thy breastie! Thou need na start awa sae hasty, wi bickering brattle! I wad be laith to rin an chase thee, wi murdering pattle!"
Tony turns to the doctor accompanying him and asks what sort of ward is this. A mental ward?
"No," replies the doctor, "It's the serious Burns unit."

Same here, but this time it's the Tories for me. I don't like Michael Howard, but it's about time that someone tackled our imigration & traveller problem.

Being a copper, crime is also a big thing of mine. Too many early releases.

Can't see anything past a Labour win mind you.

Scooby we are on our own on the immigration and traveller issue I am afraid. That is one of my main concerns but I was fighting a losing battle on the board I was in a minority of one. :?

Rob  I will pass that one on!

Paula,

I have absolutely no issue with the UK accepting Imigrants with a genuine reason to want to be here, but there has to be a quota and if they fail in their bid, a process to deport them. I always come across illegal immigrants with failed bids who commit crime (or get dragged into it).

Same with Travellers, who appear to be above the law.

Of course there are other issues around Health, Education, etc (I am also a local School Governor), but the former two are more prominent.

If the Tories get in their policies on asylum seekers ( which I think they are merely using to try and stir up the people) will probably come to nothing so they will end up on the dole queue along with a hell of lot of us.
Sorry can't forgive or forget the Thatcher/Major years.

I dont know Wendy I think Tony is more Tory than the Tories at the moment and the thought of him getting in again for another four years with Cherie would break my heart. Four more years of the Tony Blair ego he will give our country away to Europe and we will be so bloody PC we won't be able to comment on anything.

I was made redundant 9 times in the Thatcher/Major period but Howard isn't Thatcher and unless someone takes control of our borders we are gonna be in so much shit in ten years time.
