Well, at least it has a seating plan, unlike Dublin at first, and you can even choose your own seat, a rare luxury now!
Some Forum members have happily booked already, with a link provided by a member. Strange things happening these days...
I agree, Alan, I'd like to see Leonard in the Albert Hall, but when it comes to open air concerts, for us here in Ireland, a field in Inchicore (Kilmainham) beats a field in Kent!

Well, I think 3 concerts is all we're getting this time around.... that's not a complaint, I'm delighted with that! Just think it looks like the rumoured 4th night isn't on the cards... Congratulations to all who managed to secure tickets, whether new fans or old..... we shall have some wonderful evenings in Kilmainham, that's for sure

you may be right, I may be crazy.... but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for...

Hey, I can be wrong about most things, given half a chance...

... and just thinking back to Sligo, and hoping some of you metropolitan Dubs can advise the culchies amongst us.... do you have midges in Dublin?

Real Alan, you sound as paranoid as myself about midges
Of course there will be midges in Dublin, given the right weather conditions. I carry insect repellent wipes (from Boots) .

Re: DUBLIN 2012
Don't worry, Alan and Annmarie - wasn't bothered by any of the much heralded insect midges in Lissadell. WAS bothered though by human pests, those who can't survive for half an hour without a drink, and who kept pushing past at regular intervals on their way to the bar, usually at the quietest moment of a quiet song. No doubt they will reappear at every concert this year, unfortunately. Used to think it was a problem of outdoor concerts, until I attended a Willie Nelson concert in the O2 Dublin - much worse!!! There seems to be no cure for this form of idiocy!

Re: DUBLIN 2012
ah, Ann, you have hit upon one of my pet hates..... how it is not possible to sit through any half-decent concert, let alone the magical experience of Leonard, without the need to reload ones glasses I do not understand.... BUT, I do think that there are numbers of people who go to Leonard's concerts so that they can say they were there, rather than for the experience itself.... I was at a Steve Earle show a couple of years ago, and the man insisted the bars were closed while he was performing - bang on, I'd say....TipperaryAnn wrote:Don't worry, Alan and Annmarie - wasn't bothered by any of the much heralded insect midges in Lissadell. Re: DUBLIN 2012
Paul Brady quoted in todays UK Daily Telegraph.....
Discuss....The Irish are the first to diss their own as someone who has gone out of fashion but, I'm happy to say, it seems I am cool again. Maybe it's age, a sort of 'Leonard Cohen effect'

Re: DUBLIN 2012
I agree with what Paul Brady says as the Irish do tend to do that. It actually annoys me as we should support our artists. Incidently I have always loved Paul Brady and have seen him in concert twice and the 2nd time was last year in Newbridge in a 100 seated theatre, a kind of venue I'd love to see Leonard perform
I get why Paul uses Leonard as an example here too as his popularity has risen dramatically in the last couple of years.
