Re: Setlist predictions
please, does anyone think there is a possibility he will play Sing Another Song, Boys?
I ache to hear this song live before my time comes to an end.
Just one shred of hope to cling to is all I ask..

I want to hear "Light As The Breeze" live at least once before I die (or before I'm too old to understand...)

Re: Setlist predictions
I hope that Democracy will be played. I missed that one on the last tour, one of my favourites

Re: Setlist predictions
I am not sure, but it seems to me that L Cohen stopped playing it, when the US presidency switched from Bush to Obama. It is on the CD Live in London 2008.SeventhSon wrote:I hope that Democracy will be played. I missed that one on the last tour, one of my favourites

Re: Setlist predictions
For some reason "Lady Midnight" has been playing in my head a lot recently. Surely...............nah, wishful thinking I guess
I love some of the predictions here, some probably as outlandish as my own wish list
Realistically I hope for lots from Old Ideas, and of course Marianne

Re: Setlist predictions
Leonard did continue to play Democracy now and then, throughout the entire 08-10 tour (but not at every concert). He played it at both final Las Vegas 2010 shows.harald wrote:I am not sure, but it seems to me that L Cohen stopped playing it, when the US presidency switched from Bush to Obama. I love everyone's suggestions on this thread (realistic or otherwise!). If only Leonard could play them all... but I will happily accept whatever we get! (And, I'll be hoping for an Old Ideas World Tour blu-ray!)

Re: Setlist predictions
I'm pretty sure that he will do a live CD/DVD/Blu Ray.
Can't wait for that CD, Live in London is one of the best live discs I own!

Re: Setlist predictions
The tour is called "Old Ideas World Tour" in support of his new album. I would expect the preponderance of the selections to be from "Old Ideas". And I would love to hear some of the songs from the album without the electronically enhanced "choirs".
I think it would also be very interesting to hear how LC and his troupe are getting on with polishing "Born in Chains" and "Feels So Good" when they start off in Europe and as they continue. We had a lot of fun on the forum last time discussing a new song's development along the tour, such as "Darkness".
Whatever else from the back catalogue LC decides to sing at his own pleasure, it is always thrilling to be surprised.
Hearing him perform "A Singer Must Die" in Gothenburg just blew me away.

Re: Setlist predictions
Indeed, and I am also looking forward to the treatment the new songs get with the band. I was delighted by the arrangements on the last tour, and I expect nothing but more outstanding music! The wait is getting shorter!bridger15 wrote:The tour is called "Old Ideas World Tour" in support of his new album. I would expect the preponderance of the selections to be from "Old Ideas".

Re: Setlist predictions
I have included 5 out of 10 songs from Old Ideas which I think is a good proportion and would not "object" to one or two more. I do however hope that apart from a core of about 8 "untouchable" songs that the forthcoming set lists are as widely varied as possible. Most of us enjoyed several or more shows over the last 3 year tour but the set lists were hardly varied and some classics were not included. I would welcome comments on my specific choices both included and excluded.

Re: Setlist predictions
He did seem to avoid it in states such as Florida where Presidential recounts are strange.LisaLCFan wrote:Leonard did continue to play Democracy now and then, throughout the entire 08-10 tour (but not at every concert). Re: Setlist predictions
I'll bite! You have totally avoided the I'm Your Man and The Future albums. I know we were treated to a lot of those songs on the last tour, but I would still like to hear a few tossed in this time. Your list is lovely, but overall a bit tranquil, and I know that Leonard likes to pick up the tempo a bit more often (and, I like that too!).clive cass wrote: I would welcome comments on my specific choices both included and excluded.
