intriguing enough up to this point.

all right forget about all that now. don't worry about any of it because it's a new day the sun is boiling hot i have the balcony door wide open and i'm in a much better mood. just eaten baked salmon with sour cream and syrup bread followed by fresh strawberries with cream and toffee cake. so let's not talk about snow that fell last winter - i'm sick of it and want to put all of that behind me. this afternoon i am looking forward to continuing reading a superb norwegian book translated from russian; on the cover it says: 'dostojevskij krótkaja og andre fortellinger'. i started reading it yesterday and it threw me into a deep depression and terrible bad mood, but so far today i haven't opened it because i've been helping a friend (sven] repair his roof. we met at 4am and he helped me deliver advertisements, books, newspapers, magazines and competition leaflets (it's daylight around the clock up here now). at 6am we went back to his place and he made breakfast while i sang 'imagine' to his wife who has hurt her foot. he has a guitar but can't play it, so she likes it when i visit - and 'imagine' is mostly just E, A and D with a few minors and hammered sus chords. then at 7am we prepared the altar he has in an alcove in his library, and the three of us celebrated morning mass. at 8am sven and i took a small motor-boat halfway across the fjord and did some 'line-fishing' - the water was so still that when another boat passed half a mile away we felt the ripples touch our little vessel. sven read some of 'politics of ecstacy' by timothy leary and i read some of shelley's 'zastrozzi'. well, we pulled up the line after about forty minutes - there is a hook hanging every few yards along it - and our heavenly father must have smiled upon us because even after such a short time we were blessed with several large edible fish, including two salmon. now i am going to finish reading 'krótkaja'.

Geoffrey.. why you're not writing a novel (although who can say, maybe you are), but if not, why you're not would be a mystery to me.. given what I've seen thus far, you could very well rival Beautiful Losers I think.. and would only need a devoted editor to clean up your prose a bit, and you'd be fine.. the important thing is that you have this fertile mind that needs expression, and I'd say you also have this fertile heart that needs and wants attention.. so..
.. anyway, I can't help but offer up this suggestion, and wish you well if you were to take something like that on,
yours in this writing thing,

Do a postings search under his name and you'll get lots of examples of his fertile, creative mind, Violet. Literally endless. I'll buy the book, Geoffrey.

Yes Geoffrey. You would be an excellent person to write that sequel to Beautiful Losers. I know that you passed your darling to me but I am happy to pass her back.
Besides I am already committed to another. When I met with Leonard my niece went and blurted out to him that I was writing a book about Anthem and I am not about to make my niece a liar and so I guess I am going to finish it. You do know that it is the women who are in charge of such stuff.
Maybe we could help each other with editing and ideas.

I feel the same way sometimes when trying to understand Dostoevsky. Recently I came across a little essay that was written by Hermann Hesse about The Idiot that so impressed T.S. Elliot that he included a citation to it in his own book "The Wasteland" It is called "Thoughts on Dostoevsky's The Idiot"

If you haven't read it yet do take a look as I think it might bring you some lightness.

the only reason that Geoffrey is suffering mood swings is because it's summertime - so the bears have now left the frozen tundra of Norway where he lives,
please note this is a "bye-polar" "joke" and should not be used on anyone over the age of 8.

Thank you for sharing this morning with us, I'm going to clip and save for cloudy days like today - no camping out for me tonight

but at least my mind traveled to some sun and water.
I really do love when you write like this.
