I'm arrriving mid-afternoon on the 21st so won't make it for lunch but am hoping that there will be a pre and/or post concert meet-up. Maybe it will be a long lunch and I'll be able to join you all. :D

Anne R :
39, 40 Anne and Knut (Norway) and perhaps 41 Solveig (Norway)
NB! Wijbe and Willy have both # 2 and 3 as well as # 39 and 40
I think Ken has some other Dutch friends, living in Spain, with him on #2 and 3.

Hi everyone, please take it easy with me, this is my first post.

Been a fan of Leonard Cohen since the late 60's and will be seeing the concert in Nantes on July 6th. We will be in Sitges, near Barcelona, on the 20th September, sadly too late in the day for the Jorcx Concert but are in Barca the next day. Please can you put myself, Malcolm and my Wife Tina down for two for lunch ?

Look forward to it.

Thanks in advance.

Please add us to the list for the celebration on 20 September - Wendy & Tony from Warwickshire, UK.

I would love to go to the lunch on the following day as well but I suspect we will be out of the city during the day, returning only for the concert in the evening.

37, 38 Tony (Bill's Bar) and friend
39, 40 Anne and Knut (Norway) and perhaps 41 Solveig (Norway)
42, 43 Shiloh & Noelene Noone (South Africa)
44, 45 Päivi Piha & husband (Finland)
46 Alberto Manzano
47, 48 Willy and Wijbe (The Netherlands)
49, 50 Malcolm and Tina
51 Paula (Dublin)

Willy and Wijbe is an extraordinary coincidence  . If there is some mistake we will correct it and shift the numbers, it does not matter.

Wendy ~ at this moment we try to know all the people will be present at the lunch of the 21st, this way we can decide the size of the restaurant and then to propose a pre-booking. Jorcx's concert is free admission (you pay for your drink) and in now we do not need reservation.

Vicomte, Malc ~ welcome to this forum, there are veteran fans hereabouts, too ;-) . Please take it easy with my English. Sitges is a lovely town.

Well, in this list there are people of around the world. I know some personally, others we have traded Cohen's not commercial gems, to others I have read often here... but Alberto Manzano... Journalist, translator and biographer of Dylan, Tom Waits, Suzanne Vega, Nick Cave, Lou Reed, Jackson Browne, friend of Cohen since 1980 with that famous meeting in Hydra at the end of the tour, adapter of his songs, manager... But the most important thing; he has brought the Cohen lyrics (songs or poems) over many Spanish people, which captivated by the mystery and beauty of his music, we have difficulty to understands the English language.

Thanks very much for your welcome and no fears, your English is very good.

Yes, Sitges is a wonderful place, I lived there for a long time between 1967 and 1972, even being at the opening of Pacha in 1967.

By the way, we live in France but are originally from the UK. Looking forward to meeting every one. First, Nantes :D

Thank you for confirming that ForYourSmile. That's what I thought to begin with but I was confused by Jarkko's reference to people mixing up the two events!

I will be with you in spirit for the birthday lunch on the 21st but I guess you don't need to reserve me a place for that!

Wendy, see you in the Jorcx concert on 20 September and I will look for your spirit the 21.
Sitges's Pacha in 1967 the first... this is a mythic place and time, of course. I was a child.

Happy Birthday
So many songs that he has sung to us from the stage... I am sure that in some time during the concert we will need to sing for him the Happy Birthday.

I wonder which will be the best moment, just after our "warm reception", at the end of the first set: Anthem, in the beginning of the second, in the encores ... Would the band follow us?

And what is the name to sing? Happy birthday dear... Leonard or Len or Lennie, (You can call me Len or Lennie now like you always wanted ... - The Energy of Slaves LC 1972), or alive ladies' man or ...

Hallelujah! Roman is coming all the way from Denver! George will be thrilled! And Roman, not to worry, George will not be renting a car so there is no fear of going around in circles forever to get to a destination - 'cholera'. Roman, where are you staying? No room availability at the Hotel Onix Liceo for the 21st, so I still have not booked anywhere. Is there an overflow of forum members staying anywhere else or is everyone scattered at different locations?

Kindest regards,
Mary
