He didn't play Chelsea Hotel last year, or not the 3 times I went anyway. I wonder why he doesn't play it, it's one of his most famous. Do you think it might be because it's slightly unsentimental about Janis Joplin?

@ Frisco: There are some other songs as well, that I'm not so keen on, but The Lost Canadian is one of my guilty pleasures, seriously! I've probably listened to it a thousand times and I still can't get enough.
Especially when the sun is burning at the end of the summer and I'm driving with opened windows at 180 km/h through the already yellowish country side... And it must be way too loud. Yes, that's low-brow, I know...
Oh and thanks for the compliment regarding my avatar, I always had a thing for Mr. Hoffman...

Pretty sure he played it at the RAH. And the O2 show in November I went to as well for that matter.

Yes... at the Beacon in NYC, where the Chelsea itself is... thematically appropriate.
The audience
loved it.
If he should ever play New Orleans, perhaps we'll hear
Jazz Police
.

It would be great, I think, to hear such songs as
Iodine
Death of a Ladies Man
True Love Leaves No Traces
A Bunch of Lonesome Heroes
Diamonds in the Mine
Why Don't You Try
You Know Who I am
One of Us Cannot be Wrong
Seems So Long Ago, Nancy

Ah, heck with it... let's just have him sing his whole catalog

... and a few of his new ones for good measure

. Kinda like spice for insatiable appetites.

SEPARATE QUESTION: Not knowing the world of royalties, when Leonard performs a song that Kelley sold to Sony, does a percentage of Leonard's concert earnings go to them for royalties?

Would just love to hear Joan of Arc ... and as a lot of us will probably have been listening to the CD of the O2 show, and watching the DVD, as of this weekend, I think it would be good if he includes some new (or do I mean old?) material in the shows this summer. Oh yes, and some of the songs from Dear Heather as well - Look at Me, Leonard. And then perhaps there could be another live CD/DVD to look forward to ...

Yep, he played it at the RAH and the O2 November show, I was at both of them

Brought a tear to my eye the first time. I'm looking forward to hearing him sing it in NY too, that will be special I think.

The Guests is at the top of my list for songs that I would absolutely love to hear him sing. I was lucky enough to see him in Montreal last summer and I'll be going to one of the Ottawa shows this May. A Singer Must Die, There is a War, Lover Lover Lover, Jazz Police (Yes, I like this one more than much of the I'm Your Man album!), and Leaving Greensleeves would all also be lovely.
I haven't been closely following the setlists over the entire tour.. I wonder if any of these songs have been performed already?

MarkD -- none of these songs has been performed in the 2008-09 tour(s).
My choices would be The Guests, Alexandra Leaving, and The Traitor.
