Dublin (page 12: cancelled)
Re: Dublin Dates The O2
Does anyone know if these Dublin Point O2 shows are all seated? The old Point was a big standing area, which I liked but I guess this will now be all seated for LC after the revamp. Just what we dont need another big, personality-less arena. No wonder Tom Waits stays away from most UK and Ireland venues.
The reason I ask is after great seats for Manchester 1 and a good standing positon for Amsterdam I only want to stand in the Point or to aim for good seats, otherwise its ending the tour on a bad note for me.
If it is all seating does anyone know where to find a seating plan?

Re: Dublin Dates The O2
I contacted the Point and Leonard will not be playing there in December because the Point is not due to open until mid December.subtle wrote:The O2 (formerly The Point) is not due to open until December so if these dates are confirmed then I guess Leonard will be the first act to play there.
They have been inundated with call and they are definite Leonard will not be playing there.

This is extremely disappointing news ! Thank you for making it somewhat clearer -though one still lives with hope of him playing here in Dec, faint hope though it be, it remains!

Don't want to be saying - I told you so but.....
Biggles, I guess they cancelled as they couldn't facilitate you and didn't want the tour to end on a bad note for you!

Re: Dublin Dates The O2
Is this really true, as there are a lot of people on here famous for their wind ups?
Re: Dublin Dates The O2
according to jarkko on the other thread, - dublin is confirmed.

Re: Dublin Dates The O2
Sorry not a wind up.I rang them trying to find out when the tickets would be going on sale and they said there is no concert. They also said they were aware that is was posted on the Leonard Cohen web site and that they we sure there is no concert because the 02 is not opening until mid December.tinderella53 wrote:Is this really true, as there are a lot of people on here famous for their wind ups?

Re: Dublin Dates The O2
it does seem that the date in the O2 point is not going to happen.
pity i was looking forward to it. However if it is going to happen, i do hope it is announced soon as i would be tempted to go see him elsewhere otherwise.

Re: Dublin Dates The O2
Phanthom FM confirmed today that Cohen is the Opening act for the new point/o2 (depends on your politics). Good news me thinks !!
Re: Dublin Dates The O2
Seems fairly strange,this.
The only date listed on the Point web site is coldplay, on the 21/22 December
http://www.theo2.ie/event-listing/
Yet this site states that LC and band are penned in for Dec 1st!!
Whats the beef?

Re: Dublin Dates The O2
Lynam, how is Ray?
Re: Dublin Dates The O2
Hi all!
This is my first post on this site. Have only got into Mr. Cohen in the last year but oh my what a year it's been!
Was at a ridiculous amount of gigs this year from Eels to Morrissey, and from Rufus Wainwright to Radiohead but Friday the 13th in Royal Kilmainham Hospital was easily the BEST GIG OF MY LIFE!!!
So when i saw it in the paper last week that Leonard would be opening the new point i got super excited! But now loads of people on this forum are saying it's not going ahead
Does anyone think there's still a chance??
Lots of love,
Petesy

Why don't people do as (at least) one sensible person has done.
Lift the phone.
Ring the Point.
Get the answer.

Re: Dublin Dates The O2
to be honest poppy, the people in the point who are answering the phones at the moment, either don't know or have been ordered not to say, the opening of the O2 will be a really big show.
I expect U2 to be the opening act though, they have an album out in October, are a live nation band, they know the owners of the O2 and they are Irish.
