Last night I was watching War Of The Worlds series 3 episode 1 on TV when near the end I unexpectedly heard the familiar opening chords to So Long Marianne. As the song was playing in a scene on the space station orbiting earth, one of the crew was explaining to another crew member the relationship between Leonard and Marianne. They didn't play the song in full. I can't find any reference to it in this episode online yet.

Interesting that Gabriel Byrne who stars in this series was also the main actor in the film Death Of A Ladies Man.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to B4real ~ me

I had a random LC moment last night while watching the TV show "Death in Paradise". In Series 6, Episode 7, the Detective Inspector is looking through a box of stuff belonging to someone who had died, and as he is pulling out random items, he names them: "Clothes, Leonard Cohen CD, copy of Wuthering Heights...". Although he held up a CD, I was not able to ascertain which one it was -- only the edge of the CD case and a glimpse of part of the back cover was visible (I assume that they did not have the rights to show clearly which album it was).

There was no apparent reason to name-drop Leonard -- perhaps the writer was a fan! Whatever the case, it is always fun to hear a reference to Leonard in a totally unexpected place!
