Barcelona Celebration 20 and 21-09-2009

Yes thanks to Jorcx, Maarten and Jarkko and everyone else who organised this fab celebration for a fabulous time. It was so memorable, and the souvenirs are lovely too.... Even if the concert hadn't gone ahead we would have still had a wonderful time.

Unlike most people on this forum who were putting faces to names, I am trying to work backwards to associate the forum names with the real names & faces

Jorcx, Toni, Chema, Luisa, Meritxell, etal... Thank you for putting together this most excellent of meetups.

It was such a joy for me to be able to meet so many Cohenites (whether you liked it or not ). I would start naming everyone, but for fear of leaving someone out and causing offense, I will refrain from doing so. Suffice it to say, I loved meeting you at the free concert, at lunch, at the concert, after the concert,at the pubs/bars/nightclub, at the park - that should cover everyone, oh, and in the street !

Maarten, the name tags are such a wonderful keepsake - thank you! I am so proud of mine, I just might wear it to the remaining concerts on my roster, heck, I'll probably wear it around town !

As a new member I want to thank all those involved in organising the events in Barcelona. It was great to meet so many friendly people from many nations in the Sala Vivaldi. Since I didn't arrive until Monday I thought I had missed the Isle of Wight DVD and was delighted to get the chance to see it. Then I enjoyed the company on that lovely walk up the escalators etc. to Palau Sant Jordi, the gorgeous sunset and of course the brilliant concert itself. Your company made the whole experience even more memorable. Now I am enjoying all the comments, photos and videos !

I'm wearing my name tag around the town too - it's far too beautiful to be left lying around and gets lots of admiring glances and enquiries! Maarten did a wonderful job I agree. Well, of course, every one involved in organising the event did. I'm looking forward to Krakow next year; are you going? I'm still trying to work out how to add a picture to these messages. May have to do an 'advanced course' as I don't seen to be able to resize them small enough to attach.

I don't know if this link will work, but this mosaic thread had much information on how to post in addition to the link I'm giving you. Of course, if you have tried to resize and it's too small, this link is probably of no help to you. Oh well, I tried.

Greetings to all from lovely autumnal Dublin,

It has taken me a week to come down from the high of Barcelona - it was magical. So many memories to cherish for the rest of my life. I feel so blessed and privileged to be part of this wonderful group of people. I can't add anything more about the concert - it has all been said on this thread and the photos tell the story. So from the bottom of my heart I send my thanks to our Spanish team for such kindness and hospitality in your beautiful city. To all the forum members I had the honour of meeting in Hydra for the first time in June and again last week, thank you for the warmth of your welcome. Meeting so many new Cohenites in Barcelona was pure pleasure.

To Jarkko and Eija - take a bow, you have made it all possible.

Belatedly, I want to add my thanks too to Jorcx and Maarten and all the Spanish organizers of the fun we had in Barcelona. Don't think I can add any more to what has already been said here about those two days and of course the concert itself - as ever, a masterpiece of joy.

I LOVED it when Leonard thanked Jarkko and Eija and Marie and Henning and Patrice - and all of us on the Forum - personally from the stage, bless him.

One thing - Beatriz - I looked for you in Vivaldi but did not find you - I would have liked to have met you, you were so kind in giving so much info about your city, much of which was really useful once I was there as a first timer. One day...

I have some pretty good pix too but don't know how to put them up for viewing, if I figure it out I will post a few.

Aw that's a pity, we're going to keep you posted how it went. I know there are a few others from the UK planning to come over for it. We're planning on having regular meet-ups in different locations in the future, so hopefully we'll see you at one of those.

Thanks also for uploading all your Barcelona videos, glad it all worked out with the camera and it was worth it in the end.
