I don't know if I can keep this up for another two months . It is becoming an obsession I find myself waking up at four oclock in the morning itching to log on and send a post ! I am bloody exhausted and it's all Diane's fault for organising such a fantastic weekend !

Sincere apologies . I am not up to this modern computing business . I thought when you recieved a PM it automatically flagged it up so you could respond . I have just had a look at my inbox and I have PM's going back to the second world war ( slight exageration just to highlight my point ) . Anyway from now on I will check more often . What a plonker !!
I also need to apologise to Happygirl as there were a couple in there from her as well .
Thankyou for the advice on changing my name . Do you think I should ?

Hi Everybody
Greetings from The Yorkshire Lad ( formerly known as Liptrot ) . I took your advice Tinderella and now I am a new man . I went to bed last night a clapped out arthritic senile middle aged man and this morning when I woke up I was still the same but with a different name . It is kind weird but invigorating . I thought this thread would be the best place to " come out " among all my friends who will give me help and support I am sure in the coming weeks and months as I come to terms with my new found liberation .
So it's goodbye from him ( Liptrot ) and Hello from me :
The Yorkshire Lad

haha Phil eee by gum, you are really (still!) such a funny one. I see you've gone and changed your name again. And just after we climbed that whole mountainside. Oh my! Ken and Byron how interesting to see your young pics. Ken you do look very suave, and Margaret I can see why you fell for your husband, the poet as a young man. He looks like Lord Byron in fact (were he to wear an aaron sweater). I forgot to tell you in Barmouth Byron, not having a tash or beard (these days) suits you. Or at least it makes you look ten years younger. By the way, can either of you throw any light on what really happened on the train that day? Let's see your long-haired photo, Pete:-) You have very impressive legs, Tinders. I missed your strip as I was queueing for water at the time, as Judy can attest. Ah, Joe, that song you sang, Talking Dustbowl Blues was it. That was really something. Yes, hope the eye problem gets well sorted. Take care.

maybe because I've just finished re-reading Orwell's Homage to Catalonia John's photo puts me in mind, not of a romantic poet like it does with Diane, but for me he has the look of a brave member of the International Brigade.....here he is second from the right on the back row.......ta ken

I love these old photos but they bear absolutely no resembalance to any of you I would not have been able to pick you out from a police line up

Ken your picture at Port Meridon reminded me of that bloke who use to play Tosh in the Bill. I love 'em I am going to find some of my own and I want to see others although in some cases due to age of some I expect either sepia or portrait paintings.

Joe lots of luck with your eye operation

Paula wroted....."I love these old photos but they bear absolutely no reasembulence to any of you I would not have been able to pick you out from a police line up  "

That case was never brought to court!!! I was never picked out of the police line-up. I was no where near the honey/jam factory when Albert climbed the walls and passed me the................oh bugger..... :(

Any spelling mistakes are due to a glitch in the hard drive of Albert's 'Sinclair Word Processor.' (Circa 1988)

And why did Paula use the word 'bear?' Did she attend that police line-up? Has Albert been meeting Paula behind the Matlock bandstand again? Who was the very hairy man who witnessed the event while wearing a pair of shorts? Why have I received a pm asking for a selection of eggs from a supposedly 'new' member or I'll be dragged kicking and screaming into a re-enactment of the Wars of the Roses?

some on foot and some by train

so long from a Leonard fan
Its time we all began
to laugh and cry and cry and laugh about it all again

We met in beautiful countryside
Deep in Snowdon's national park
Most of us were curious
Would we be walking in the dark

so long from a Leonard fan
Its time we all began
to laugh and cry and cry and laugh about it all again

My friends all said they were beside me now
And never did I feel alone
Standing on a ledge near a mountains edge
With my ankles aching to the bone

So long from a Leonard fan
Its time we all began
to laugh and cry and cry and laugh about it all again

And now we go to Germany
All my money I must save
But Henning please no more mountain tops
I never said that I was brave

So long from a grateful man
Its time we all began
to laugh and cry and cry and laugh about it all again
