I lived in South Florida for almost six years and learned from Cubans that it is unlucky to put a suitcase on the bed and one's purse on the floor. So now I have to deal with that!

Here's something useful that I've learned about all of those, ummm... "beliefs" (best non-judgmental name I could come up with)
If you do not believe in them, they do not affect you, guaranteed.

One thing to believe in though: That seeing a monkey with a plywood violin definitely means good luck! ;-)

Yes Fred! Forget about all the other little silly superstitions...YOU are our guy! We need to see you. The past week has been very very busy...and perhaps you did not have internet connections everywhere. But...you are now in New York City and there is no excuse! Let us see your cute smile once again!

Don't fret, anyone. Have it on good authority that dear Fred is fine. He has been busy and am sure you will hear from him.

Oh good, was beginning to think that maybe Fred had been left behind somewhere along with Dino's socks! :D And then had visions of his handlers searching every town for a lookalike monkey and busily crafting a plywood violin in between putting up rigging, taking down rigging, sound checks etc etc! :D

....not to get people more worried, but I just came across this:

Little Monkey never knew there were so many other kinds of monkeys in the jungle until the day he hopped on a lily pad. In no time he's floated down the river far from and his mama! There are all kinds of strange and exotic monkeys in this part of the jungle, and they teach Little Monkey all sorts of wonderful things, like howling and hugging and swinging from vines. But none of them know the way home. How will Little Monkey ever get back to his troop?

Hi Eskimo,

What a sweet sad story...the poor little monkey! But an adorable picture....

However....Jacqueline....I TRUST you completely because I have a feeling you may have spoken to one of our little guys "persons"! The past week has been crazy for them plus the weather has not been the best, except for almost everyone going to that deli outside of Waterbury! Hopefully Fred has no disgestive problems.... :( I do think we will be hearing from our little guy very soon!

Love ya Fred,

But that would have put Fred in Detroit....along with Dino's socks!

I could drive downtown and retrieve both Fred.....er, and the socks...yech! Think I would opt for Fred and take him home! Not really into clean but used socks ;-)..sorry Dino.

VERY funny posts, both of them, burningviolin... AND your graphic, Eskimo! If I didn't 'know' better, I'd think you made it all up... somehow! Well, aren't WE all keeping ourselves amused, awaiting word ;-) .

Anytime, sweet Fred... :)
