That is a beautiful picture !!
8) Yes... it is 8) .

Were they singing "Whither Thou Goest"? If they weren't, they easily could have been... for that is the way they were looking at each other.

My thanks to Simon for the vid and the pics, and to Lizzie Madder for the pics too! I am so jealous!
You're jealous!?! How about how I feel after what I've just read here  ?!?

Okay... off to the main site :) .

Back! I see now that the photo had to be either "Whither Thou Goest" or "Never Got to Love You" 8) .

Thanks for your accounts, everyone :D . Some photos of Leonard are better than others... I love the one that's inset on the right, where he has his hands together at the mic.

Happy, Happy Day, Lizzie Madder 8) !!!
I am totally delighted for you :D !!! As people speak with such intensity of their joy at finally meeting Leonard, some will understand and others won't; as you said, your 30-plus years were worth the wait. Count me amongst those who understand. Great photo of you and Anjani :D ... and you and Leonard 8) .

Now, I see that I will get to watch this video, but not until I'm home tonight :D .

Lizzie, what a wonderful experience for you - I am so happy about this! I echo Lizzy and Dick's comments: you are a more than worthy person to have this honour bestowed upon you . :D

Cheers :)

This photo [that you posted, Jarkko ~ apparently, by Jim] is really good... a very fine photo! Now, to go see the others.

Just saw Simon's videotaping :D :

Leonard's speaking voice... so deep, so true 8) .

Such a sweet, sultry voice Anjani...

her simple " ~ hello ~ "

... no doubt melted many men's hearts
that night 8) .

Dear John ~

Now, I'm feeling more and more compelled to ask:

What are a few, brief six hours in the course of a lifetime?
How many times have you missed or been late for work for far less reason?
How many times will you later kick yourself for not having gone ~ "What an idiot! What could I have been thinking!?!"
Six hours... you'll fritter that away doing... [what?] that Sunday and Monday.
Is there a compulsory board of directors meeting that requires your presence?
An unpostponeable doctor's appointment?
What?
New York is the only locale that's guaranteed Leonard's presence... and you've just seen the same video I have and heard Anjani's hello... and read the astounding reports of her performance.
Why are you considering adding Leonard to your never seens. Why are you considering bypassing seeing and hearing Anjani in person... possibly, even, the two of them?
Are your vacation days so spent that you can't spare another one... on Monday?
I'm admittedly more than baffled. You are so relatively near already.
Please feel free to interpret this as pressure... particularly if it makes a dent in your 'position' of 'regrettable non-attendance.'
We've been waiting for years to see Leonard... not so many years to see Anjani, of course; and how privileged we are now to be able to see them together.
If there are private issues ~ compelling ones ~ please PM me.

Love,
Lizzay

I knew you were going to write this.
:D Sooner or later... yes  .

Having been one to have made so many wise and prudent decisions... well, maybe not so many in number, but compared to what would have been the truly wise and prudent thing to have done.

Missing "Came So Far For Beauty" was my most recent. Missing Woodstock was one. Missing Arlo Guthrie, in the days when he had no trouble singing "Alice's Restaurant" by heart, was another. Missing Harry Chapin at what turned out to be the last concert I had the chance to see before he died was still another. Leaving one night of performance early, to begin hitchhiking from Atlanta to Texas with a male friend, when I could have kept my ticket and gone a second night, instead of talking the people into letting me use both on the same night, so he could see Bob Dylan with me, and then leave with him in the morning, yet another. I know there are more. These just come to mind on-the-spot immediately. Somehow, the misses linger in memory much longer than you wish they would.

I had arranged to not miss Anjani, before I realized Leonard would be in attendance. I see I need to make a correction to where I said "not so many to see Anjani," as I meant, "not so many years to see Anjani."

Missing Leonard Cohen... out of the question.

Lizzie, Jim and Simon,

Thank you for the beautiful pictures and glowing report. Not quite
as good as being there, but a good consolation!

Lizzie, I'm very glad that you had that opportunity. I tried for a ticket
myself but was not successful, so I'm really glad it was you, particularly
since you were so kind to me in Berlin.

Anjani has written and had posted a "Letter from the Road" on her website addressing their London and Oslo performances.

This promotional tour is going exceedingly well. They are getting back proportionate to all that they are giving 8) .

It's at http://www.anjani-music.com/news.html and it just plain makes you happy for them :D .
