The Jewish Record Index deals exclusively with those of Jewish Lineage. That's why it's called the Jewish Record Index.
I don't think the Catholic Church has a genelogical record base. You are probably thinking of the Morman Church. Go to http://www.familysearch.org/-3K as a starting point in finding some information about your family.
My great-great Aunt researched our family history in the 1920's. She was a librarian and of course did all the work without a computer. You will have a much easier time of it.
One caveat though, don't trust everything you find. Some of it will be misinformation. Human frailty!

OK, thanks eeey....that may be why I couldn't find anything. I wasn't certain....felt it could go either way, even with its title. You're right, it is the Mormons....my paternal cousin has been doing "ours" for years. Of course, that would not relate to my mother's side. Now, I need to find out for sure if anyone on my mother's side was Jewish, though it seems I probably already would've known by now, so it's not likely. Thanks, regardless!

i will start with some historical background.
israel at the time was controlled by the romans as is known.the hasmonian family of cohens were allowed to retain a "puppet" monarchy.they had taken the throne from the times of the hanukah episode.before that the judah tribe was the royal family.so the king would serve a double purpose.he would also be the high priest in the temple,as he was the "big cohuna".

i am posting the jesus episode in segments,in case anyone wants to scream out "shaddap elazar!
don´t wanna hear it!"and that would forever close the issue.
when i put myself to the task of looking the stuff up,i had no clue what i would find.forgive my insensitivity,if you have been offended.it was not my intention in the least.in the age of p.c.,is there really "free speach"?
maybe the times arent ripe for these things to be uncovered.or i could be mistaken.

they "didnt take sides" between the pharisees and seduccees,and "encouraged" infighting.there was a civil war going on to some level.this suited the romans quite well.if israel united under a nationalistic ideology,they would turn on the romans and attemp to throw them out.so the romans gave the "puppet monarchy" the right to exercise martial law,(i think thats what its called
)and carried out executions
for the legal courts of the pharisees as well.this perpetual cycle of killings took the attention and heat off the romans and turned it against the two factions.it was very dark times.

jesus was allready on the black list of the pharisees after the fallout with his teacher joshua.the last words they had exchanged were not positive.then jesus attracts pharisees to his following.this makes the pharisees angry and besides,they ruled that he was practiceing magic which is very prohibited and akin to idol worship.then he was ruled as an inciter/instigater and corrupter.his message had umph,but they forsaw,it would go somewhere else from there and lead israel astray from g-d, perhaps to idol worship etc...

His mother was Polish, I'm not sure about his father but I'm sure I read somewhere that there is a Scottish link I may be wrong. Wasn't his grandfather called Lyon, I think that he maybe that link. Hey maybe I should just go and check out the biography of his that I have, been so long that I read it.
