only teasing her, she and Geoffrey were indeed the only volunteers to judge, and thank goodness we chose the sensible one.lizzytysh wrote:As long as she needs, I'd say, Michael. No one else came through for the role. She has her own deadline for travel, so she should be fine with the deadline for the Berlin booklet, as well.

of course Geoffrey volunteered, otherwise how else can you explain his comment that he hasn't?lizzytysh wrote:I don't recall Geoffrey volunteering ~ but, perhaps, he's da judge. Laurie seems a bit blocked in with exclamations and question marks
.
I can understand how he has completely suckered someone else on the forum, but et tu, Lizze?
Hi Michael ~
. Nakedly honest. Speculating the 'unthinkable' and the 'unsayable,' whilst doing both. It can be like a roller coaster ride of the mind, but invigorating all the same. In their way, his commentaries are quite refereshing, actually... despite the moral judgements that might be levied upon them.
I feel badly if he was being critical of Muddy's poem. I can tell by the essence of the words that there may be some glitches as to their ultimate rendering into English... however, the poem itself, seems deep and as though the only thing lacking is its being able to be understood in its native language. I would like to see it placed here in Spanish, so those who understand it can enjoy it, from its original perspective.
So, I can't own the "suckered," much less the "completely" of it. I do, however, gladly own liking Geoffrey
. I exert the same kind of ownership toward you, as well, Michael
. The same has been the case with you, in our personal history.
With due respect to you both,
Lizzy
Actually, I like Geoffrey of my own free will and volition. From meeting him and discussing one of Leonard's poems in the main room and then window of the Chatroom several years ago, and agreeing on the majority of points either of us were making about it, until his entrance here on the Forum, I've never had any untoward experiences or communications with Geoffrey. In fact, the reverse. I've enjoyed his writings, and appreciate his role ~ along with Greg's ~ of bringing some of the feeling of the old ng [at least that period I was privy to] here. He writes creatively and outlandishly ~ both... he says many things others might think, but for propriety reasons wouldn't think to dare to say. . . completely suckered . . .

Geoffrey was pissing on Muddy's poem and I called him on it.
You assassinate my good name, Michael. But I take solace from the holy scriptures, where our blessed redeemer says that people were watching how much he ate and drank. He said people were calling him a glutton and a drunkard. There have always been liars around.

I did nothing but give Muddy good encouraging words, as you well know. When are you going to understand that the more you criticise me the more people are going to dislike you, Michael. You are obsessed with me. In your first post to this forum my name can be found, years before I joined. If charm could be bought over the counter I'd buy you some and send it but it can't. Unfortunately you are doomed to remain as you are. What was it Muddy called you again? A narcissistic something or other. Jog my memory.

Geoffrey, even if no-one else gets it, you know and I know that you were pissing on that poem but, as usual, you didn't have the guts to say it straight.
now, do something useful today and look up Ivor Cutler.
michael
ps Ham can be bought over the counter, but I am Jewish and have never tasted it and don't wish to start now. But thanks for the thought, anyway.
