I believe that it is an impossibility for one person to have both of those traits: one is either "normal", or they are "perfect". Being "perfect" is a very rare condition, not at all normal, putting one most definitely at the far end of one of cohenadmirer's inverted U-curves.

Speaking as one who is perfect (but certainly not normal), it is actually a curse, not "nice" at all. A perfect person must become adept at exercising great patience with all of the imperfect people they meet at every turn. They are constantly faced with the exasperation of being reminded of how superior they are through the obvious shortcomings of others, but, being perfectly kind in addition to every other perfection, they cannot openly express their frustration. Thus, the perfect person must smile and nod as if they thoroughly understand how someone else can be so wrong and inadequate, faking solidarity with the lesser beings with whom they must interact.

Count yourself lucky if you are amongst the imperfect!

thank you for all of these interesting messages. as far as i can make out, this section of the forum is one of the most popular. nowhere else in his little empire does jarkko manage to attract regular activity from people such as doctors, artists, lawyers and psychologists - the crème de la crème of thinking people. i am certain leonard himself avidly monitors this little corner of the internet, and is proud to have fans of our calibre. let us all light a thin green candle and raise our glasses in his honour :-)
