Liverpool is just a short trip from Dublin .i'm sure leonard would enjoy the great acoustics of the liverpool philharmonic hall after Dublin .
Unfortunately i'm equally sure that is basically just a pipe dream !
Leonard's work resonates

cohenadmirer - Liverpool would have been the logical next step after Dublin, but it doesn't seem likely on this leg of the tour. The last time I saw Leonard in concert was at the Arena in Liverpool in July 2009, and it was a wonderful concert. If I never get to see Leonard again (either because I can't get a good ticket or can't afford one) then at least I have the memory of that evening.
Will the Webb sisters be touring with Leonard again? If so, are they also wondering why so far, the UK has been forgotten.
There has to be a reason surely, to miss us out for a second time. What did we do???????
Is it political?

Yes, the line up has been put on here recently and the only change from the last tour is that a violinist has now been added.
I guess it all started for me sometime around Christmas 1967 and now, goodness me, it's.........2018 and over fifty years later. No one ever listens to me. I might as well be a Leonard Cohen record. Neil from The Young Ones
Yes,lightasabreeze,I´m wondering that too! whatever we did do wrong,I hope we are quickly forgiven, and "The Man"may appear in our country again.
Saying that,I have been spoilt,as I previously lived in Portugal, where I was lucky to see him at each concert.Open air in Lisbon was MAGIC--and I have that wonderful memory to keep me going.
But PLEASE Mr.Cohen,we Brits ADORE you--and honour us with your presence.XXXX
I AM KEEPING MY FINGERS, TOES AND VERYTHING ELSE THAT HE IS COMING TO UK - PREFERABLY THE OPERA HOUSE IN MANCHESTER.
WENT THERE TO SEE HIM ON HIS LAST TOUR - WHAT A FABULOUS AND INTIMATE VENUE.
HOWEVER IF HE COMES TO LONDON THAT WOULD BE GREAT !!!!! BOTH SURPRISED AND DELIGHTED HE HAS DECIDED TO TOUR AGAIN - WHAT A TROUPER. AGE IS IRRELEVANT AS THIS MAN IS PURE GENIUS!!!
This is not a specific reply. I know that Dublin meant a lot to LC on the 2008 tour and so how can he say 'you're special to me' in any other way than than this (this being by ignoring England)...it's not very far away.. get a ferry ticket, it's the best crossing in the world, always a banjo player playing in the bar and sounding like he should have been hired. Go to Dublin. It's only as far as London, or maybe further but what's it matter, its closer than Canada, meet the man half way huh? Dublin is going to be as special as the Opera House residency was...book a ferry...

He could easily fit in a couple od nights at The Royal Albert Hall. Have checked their website and so far there's nothing scheduled for 17th - 20th September, fingers crossed in a big way!!!

I just want to say that I'm with you here, i'd love to hear the best of Old Ideas live along with Heather and Ten, but no matter what we would like Leonard to be he is a rock star, he'll play his standards, because rock fans can't cope with art..can I elaborate? course I can I'm an old man...i read recently of a Neil Young fan who'd witnessed the 1973 (I think) Manchester Palace gig - NY opened the gig with the unknown 'Tonight's the Night' and folk were disappointed, he followed it with new down song after new down song until people were booing and leaving the venue and so Neil sid 'Ok. I'll play you a song you've heard before...' he repeated 'Tonights the Night'...now that's very funny but it's also very Neil Young. LC won't be playing Old Ideas in Dublin. Old songs, yeah, but not much post 'Future'. can we bombard him with messages that we love his new stuff?? Let me know.
