This was a fine place for you to hide for awhile but you really must come to terms with your limitations as a writer and stop this childish nonsense. I suggest we move past this defensive and unattractive whine and get on with your lessons. It's not about the ego. It's all about the writing.

this is more fun that I ever anticipated. I don't get to see any posts by the Baby Trolls but I *do* get to read you slapping them around the Forum.

We must stop lying. We read everything and we know it. We reply to ourselves too. We're embarrassing ourselves.

Trolls, baby trolls, lack of entertainers, plonking... my dear Critic2, it would appear that you have locked yourself into a place and cannot see an escape route. You have become repetitive. Listening to you is like attending a boring luncheon party.

Perhaps I have been too harsh. After all, it is perfectly ok to be a clever poet, regardless of how slight. There are no rules against it. We should embrace your gift, such as it is, and encourage you. However you must be aware that holding up the pathetic McEnroe joke as a beacon to your talent will not win over the skeptics.

So I will offer these words of advice to you should you wish to pursue a more substantial point of view.

1. Learn to experiment.
2. Loosen your grip on the quirky and try a completely new approach.
3. Perhaps it will work, perhaps it won't. But do not be discouraged!
4. Don't forget that it takes time and patience to find a voice that is completely foreign to ones nature.

I believe, truly believe, that if you can follow these simple but powerful guidelines you will someday escape your clever little world of make believe.

Now, armed to the teeth, run off and complete your assignment. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that we will provide you with all the support you need during this transitional period.
