I must tell you strangerY that Martine is very hot to handle. She did indeed give me a "nasty ass whipping boy" but I have no idea what to do with him. He is currently on the mantel-piece over the fire but the cleaner is far too scared to dust him.

Paula, the operative word there is "seem", to you. There is no "nastiness" intended on my part, except for pointed sarcasm to those making no secret of their own nastiness (disguised as "banter")!

I don't go out of my way to misspell people's names, nom de plumes or otherwise, either.

What you're saying would hold up better, Makera, if it weren't for the fact that this contest's entries were anonymous as to their authorship.

For clarification, I also have not been involved in the judging [Martine   and any/all others]. I ~ as always ~ have only my personal taste, upon which to draw. I know nothing of the mechanics of poetry ~ however, our esteemed judge does!

The idea of winners/losers is not a good one for poetry to begin with ~ I prefer winners/non-winners for starters....and even so, there are other ways to approach the competition, which I suspect will be done here.

 ~ Thank heaven for the wisdom of your cleaner, C2 ~ you could end up with a homeowner's lawsuit on your hands.

Yeah, Liz, that helps for the judging... but not the aftermath  . Some hold 'blind' comps on AP as well (although the numbers of users on the site tends to make it virtually equivalent to anonymity).

I shall share your optimism in the good grace of the entrants. I agree with your "winner/non winner" perspective of course, as I said.

Well, now ~ a perspective I haven't considered, and doubt Laurie has, either, C2. The honour of being the greatest loser of all; not such a bad notion, given the context.

Neither do I if I have spelt your name incorrectly it was not deliberate.

Perhaps you should read through some of your previous posts and see why it "seems" to me nastiness was intended. Do you have selective vision, do you think all these "pearls of wisdom" you bestow on us are gratefully received as you obviously think we don't have a brain cell between us. You patronise in every word you write.

Here's some latin for you, Makera.

FIDDLE FADDLE

Your "I don't give a damn" post was as ego-laden as the best (or worst) here.
