i dont like any of the cover much, and i think album cover are important.
dear heather is probly my fave as i dont like pictures of the artist on album covers (however, some of the beatles covers get away with it). his first greatest hits is a good picture of him

I've been very grateful for the photos of Leonard on his album covers. In the beginning, they were my only source of the human, physical structure surrounding that phenomenal voice... and I appreciated every photo I could find!
If forced to select 'favourites' I'd start with his initial album and Field Commander Cohen. But, then, as soon as other photos come to mind, these are going to have to cozy up closer with each other to make room.

For me it's Songs from a Room - but then I would, wouldn't I?
Wasn't there also a picture of Marianne curled up in a traditional Greek rocking-chair?

Dear Threaders -
Call me an inverted snob, but I've always derived great satisfaction from the fact that little or no apparent design has gone into the covers of Cohen's albums. I believe there's an inverse relationship between the quality within the music and that of the images on the front of the sleeve or box. In a world where form is increasingly given preference over content, long may this phenomenon continue.
