Hi remote1,

I can't upload these two following songs - I think there is more than a temporary problem because I have been trying consistenly for two days now with still no access.

Oslo - Suzanne
Wiesbaden - Anthem
(no problem with Hallelujah)

Your help to solve this would be appreciated. Thanks.
Bev

Today I will upload Berlin.

Hi B4real

Wiesbaden - Anthem works fine right now from where I am...
Don't know about Oslo - Suzanne. It says it is temporarily unavailable. I'll give it some thought! ;-)

Hey, remote1,

Anthem in Wiesbaden still won't work here.

...and same goes for Suzanne in Oslo!!

I think they are more than temporarily unavailable....there must be some problem in connecting to Australia....dammm!!

I have had absolutely no problem with all the other songs in those two concerts.

Thanks, Remote1, these are awesome! It is so very kind of you to make them available for us like this! (And, of course, thanks to the orginal tapers, who have shared their treasures with us!) :D

remote1 I second what LisaLCFan has to say about the concerts, and am sure many others do too.

Each concert in each country or city has its own flavor, which keeps them fresh and interesting.
Love them. :D ;-)

Kudos

Hi remote1,

Yesterday I was downloading the last (for me) concert, namely Malmo, and I Tried To Leave You would not download. I tried several times throughout the day, but no luck. Any idea why? (everything else worked beautifully!) It claimed to be available, but it would freeze part-way through the download and say that there was about 1:30 remaining, but 10 or 15 minutes would elapse, so I'd give up and cancel it (and most of the tracks only took seconds to download, since I got the premium membership to speed things up). (And, I must say, I was rather amused that that particular track behaved in this fashion!)

Thanks for your help!

Lisa

Roemersteinbruch Sankt Margarethen is according to some Forum members one of the best show recordings of this tour. I haven't hear it yet but can't wait as it was my BEST Cohen show so far. Unfortunately it is not (it seems) accepted by dimeadozen (as is not Salzburg) because it's MP3 recording but we will do a Vine soon here!

remote1, many many thanks. I've now downloaded all five concerts: some really incredible performances, and I've only listened to fragments so far.

I've just added Grenoble - 17.09.2010 (source: gvataper, with thanks from Remote1): http://www.megaupload.com/?f=YAH4JE8G (the last song is cut).
Please read the first post again for more info on the source of this recording.

Here are the details:

"Description Leonard Cohen
September 17, 2010
Palais des Sports
Grenoble, France

As some of you know, I have not had much luck taping Mr Cohen. Managed to mess up Massey Hall Toronto 1988, Lyon 2008, Vienne 2009. Some would say that is a message. Yet, still Waiting for a miracle, I headed off to Grenoble last weekend and the results are, by my track record, pretty good. Disclaimer: this is not complete. I discovered an error when I downloaded the tracks which meant the file from the second set was corrupted. I managed to open 99% of the file, but missing is most of the last track. As those who have listened to my previous Cohen productions will attest, despite this error, on the whole the recording is very much a step in the right direction. Enjoy.

Source:

DPA 4023-->Oade ACM Marantz PMD661
1st set: 5th row, slightly off centre
2nd set + encore: 5th row direct centre

Master is 24/96, this file is 16/44

Normalizing, levels in Wave Editor and Sound Studio
Downsampling in Wave Editor with Izotope

Taper:

gvataper

Notes:

This is an incomplete recording of the concert, this is the entire file available from this source.

Also note, because taping location was slightly ahead of speaker stacks, while the sound was clean, it wasn't loud. Thus there is at times a loud variation between audience reaction and applause and the sound from the stage. This is more noticeable in the second set. First set levels were a little low and have had some gain added. Second set if anything levels were a little high and peaked during applause, set has been normalized and levels balanced a bit.

Sharon Robinson was absent from the line-up for this show.
