Well I downloaded 2 other versions of "ne me quitte pas" but english ones.. I wanted to see what the translation would be like.. very disappointing.. soooooo much better in french..
I took the Tom Jones one.. thinking it would be a good laugh.. No.. it was imediately deleted from my computer! horrible!
then I thought I would try the DJ remix. ( love electronica music.. what a combination folk and electronica lol) The trance remix isn't bas but again much more impactful if it were in french!

I was surpised to see Piaf on the list. I did not know she sang Brel. She said his songs were like a slap in the face. Frank Sinatra's cover is good ( usually I am unmoved by him) and Nina Simone 's French isn't great but her piano and performnce always are.

I’m afraid this cover wasn’t made by Piaf. I’ve downloaded this version for my father – he was a fan of Piaf when he was young – and he said it wasn’t her record. It seems that Mireille Mathieu sings it. Actually, the site isn’t “professional” or something like that – it’s simply a private collection of records that belongs to one girl – so I think there can be some mistakes.
And some links don’t work there – I wasn’t able to download some covers, as well. Maybe that girl simply deleted some of the files :? .

When I listened to some English versions I was so disappointed, too! But I didn’t download Frank Sinatra’s one. I’ll try.
I've finally found myself! But that turned out to be a completely different person.
