Hi Pironi,

Hope to meet you at Caesar's in Las Vegas! I think a lot of the forum members will be there. It doesn't match the beauty of Venice though or the Piazza San Marco....

As you know we English are obsessed with all things connected with the weather.
So true to form I have been checking out the weather for the last few weeks in your part of the world and I have noticed a certain pattern has been emerging. There have been 3 or 4 days of beautiful sunny weather followed by one day of rain.
Now I don't 'do' rain, so I'm keeping a very watchful eye on the weather forecast for next Monday.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/64

So just in case we wake up on Monday to rain here is an old English nursey rhyme (with a slight change of words to suit the occasion) that we can all learn and then maybe chant together in the l’Olandese Volantein in Campo S.Lio before we head over to San Marco for the concert.

Rain rain go away
Come again another day
Our Lenny wants to play
Rain rain go to Spain
Never show your face again

all together now.....................

You promised me sunshine......

The BBC weatherforecast for Venice has Monday down as heavy rain showers

http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/64

CNN weather has it only as cloudy....

http://weather.edition.cnn.com/weather/ ... 3356368480

the MSN weather service even throws in thunderstorms in their forecast (see below)

So I guess we should all pack some waterproofs before we leave home

Ta Ken,

well, here in Croatia, very near Venice (and I was in Istria last week, came back on Sunday, and that's almost Venice!), it's sunny, extremely hot, humidity is awfull, and it's around 35 Celsius in the shadow.
Last year in Lucca (July 27) it was very hot. True, August on the Adriatic is always little capricious, but I do not expect any bad weather. It's too soon to change, and my weather forecast says "sunny, 30 degrees" for Sunday. (No forecast for Monday yet.) I guess that you on the islands know more about the Adriatic wheather conditions than we here;) Didn't see any rain since June.

Hi,
If everyone is going to bring their own weather, I'd like to sit next to Tom then please... And I guess Ken will be sitting alone somewhere in a corner near the back! :)

See you soon,
Maarten

Hi guys,
when I went to Venice to look for our event bar tour there was sun and heat when I arrived. Drom 2 pm to 2.30 pm a thunderstorm came and then again sun and heat.
The Venice people know that if it rains or thunderstorms it is usually a quick shower and then back again to the sun.
To we all keep our fingers cross that it does not rain or thunderstorm( and if only an hour early monday morning when we all still sleep :-)).
Let's think positive
Bye
Andrea

Is that me? Much as I would like to be as Irish as my Irish ancestors, we are in fact Brits so it should say "Tony + Wendy - UK"

See you all soon. Shorts & waterproofs are packed ....

The BBC in London must have been listening to you...they have now taken the rain clouds off their weather forecast for Monday...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/64

So no need for any of us to pack any heavy weather clothing now....it's sunshine all the way.
Thank you Andrea....you promised me sunshine and thanks to you and the BBC you have kept your promise.

From now on you shall always be 'Sant' Andrea del Sole' to me:-)

Andrea

It's Friday morning and the BBC have put the rain clouds back on their Monday forecast....they obviously don't take the wisdom of Sant Andrea del Sole seriously.

So who am I to believe.. Sant Andrea del Sole or the BBC?

I shall compromise by leaving my waterproof over trousers at home and just packing my umberella, my all-weather light weight poncho, my Gortex waterproof jacket, and my rubber wellington boots.

So if I manage to get through the swine flu thermal imaging checkpoint at the airport I will see you in Venice.
