paula,
i have no idea what "our" henning looks like - but i take your word for granted!
i didn' t mean to call mr. scherf a perfect look-alike to mr.cohen, yet i did understand my friend' s confusion when she saw that book...
but maybe you' re right and we can stick our little pins in that voodoo doll...

Now I don't know Jeremy Clarkson, but you're probably right about Bourdain...
I guess I only posted him, because that's the only reason I know him - a Dylan fan, who didn't Cohen (yes, that is possible) before I told her about him, looked him up and said: "He looks like Anthony Bourdain!"
So I looked Anthony Bourdain up and ended up finding him really attractive in his shows...

Out of curiosity, I came across this link for Henning Scherf

I can see the similarity, especially the eyes.

Yes! Leonard is certainly much more handsome!

Getting back to the Dustin Hoffman comparison, I distinctly remember reading a diary piece in The Guardian way back in 1970 in which LC mentioned to the writer that when he went to see Midnight Cowboy in NYC several people came up to him afterwards to congratulate him on his performance. I like to think of him graciously accepting the praise!

Just saw Jeff Goldblum interviewed on tv - now that he's older he was really reminding me of Leonard. Am I going mad? (or suffering withdrawal symptoms):
Maybe not the best comparison pics I could find, but it was really noticable when he talked.

Hi somewhat-nifty - I don't know about the resemblance, but what an adorable picture of Leonard!! I don't remember seeing that one before - it just makes me want to cuddle & kiss all over. . . OMG, that incomparably charming & seductive smile. . . You do have a great talent for finding beautiful pictures; thank you for the post. . .

Oh, somewhat_nifty, that is, indeed, a very nice photo of Leonard. That smile, oooh, yeaahhh, I have just melted. And his hairy chest, oh my...
(Jeff Goldblum? You may not be going mad, but it's a bit of a stretch, I think.) (And to anyone who may be thinking of it, Goldblum could not possibly play Leonard in a movie, since he's about 6'10" or something.)

I think there is a resemblance between the two, around the nose and mouth.

Perhaps this was all just a shameless excuse to post that pic of Leonard
No, really I did see it when JG was talking, it was the smile and the position of the eyes and nose (and possibly seeming like an all-round charming kind of fella) - but yes, he is about twice the height of Leonard so I think the similarity breaks down!

This is one from Mr somewhat_nifty really, and now that everything has been resolved happily I don't mind posting it, but he was struck by the fact that one of the Chilean miners - Yonni Barrios, the one with the 'complicated' personal life - looked a hell of a lot like Leonard. I'm not so sure myself, but he was most insistent. What do you think?

Erm...kinda.

Complicated private life adds to the likeness though
