i can not express this better than our reluctant participant, Steve Wilcox.

I truly wish I could resist replying to this thread - and believe me I'm somewhat sympathetic when someone can't afford a luxury they want - but everyone who complains about ticket prices always complains about the highest price category, beit $549, $250, etc. But there are always tickets in the $68-$75 range too. This is a real deal, especially in the 3000-seat venues where 100% of those in attendance will be closer to the stage than 90% of those in the audience for most large touring acts who have one ticket price for the entire stadium and often play for less than 90 minutes!" (End quote)

(Hopefully) I will see him at Red Rocks for $59. If so, I will be in the most beautiful venue imaginable, and literally withing range of a well thrown basketball.

Thanks Steve, for helping people understand that there is an intersection between want we want and what we will pay for it. If you do not think a once in a lifetime experience is worth a month of fashionable coffee. (Or in my case..two weeks) Sit at home and have a Starbucks...I will be at the show.

I heartily agree!!! The majority of us here have to re-budget and give up things in order to attend an LC concert, no matter what price category is purchased( in addition to, perhaps, any other expenses). But, once you have been able to see the Master perform, all of a sudden, you realize that there are so many things in your life that you can live without and your money has been so well spent for a three hour evening of pure bliss!
Kindest regards,
Mary

Maryb and Steve Wilcox are right. There are cheaper tickets than 175 dollars but whatever one pays this show is worth the price.
So bite the bullet, buy the ticket and have a spectacular time!

Just thought I'd add my "two cents worth" to this thread. We rehearsed and planned ahead so that when the pre-sale on Wednesday went ahead for the Calgary event at the Jack Singer, we'd get first crack at tickets. We've been fans for 35 years, and since seeing Leonard last time through, quite a number of years back(11th row tickets then,) we were anxious to see him once again, this time with our daughter, who is now an uber fan. So, what did we get for our efforts at 10:02 a.m.? Last row in the entire theatre. O.K., so we're there. We have tickets. $120.00 each with charges. Lots of drama involved just getting these top balcony seats, so we'll try for closer at the public sale on Monday. If Leonard's concert is anything close to what it was last time we were so lucky to see him, it will be phenominal. Best concert we've ever been too. Three encores. A veritable LOVE IN. On our way out of the venue it was very slow. Someone wondered what was taking so long. I quipped, "Leonard must have run around to the front door to say goodbye and thank us all for coming." I wasn't too far off. Each lady was being presented with a long stemmed rose, by the ushers holding the doors. Each rose had a tag on it that pretty well said, "Thanks for coming...LC". Can't wait 'till April 26th.
:D Good Luck to everyone trying to get tickets. Don't stop trying, as it will be well worth your efforts. Some things, like art, and affairs of the heart, are worth the sacrifice.

I paid $525 a piece for two second row, dead center seats at the Austin show. Though I wish the price were less, I don't regret the expense. It would be ideal if there were an equitable way to distribute premium seats at a discounted rate to the public. The pre-sale to members of this (free!) forum is a big step in that direction.
