JTS - I quite see that you have very compelling reasons for not making it to this particular gathering. Maybe if you were to mention to your bro the possibility of bouzouki music?..............

Andrew - do you mean you had to join AI in order to obtain said CD, or do we have to agree to join before you will play it for us ? :)

What does everyone want to do about drink? As there is no bar, I would be happy to take orders to buy in on people's behalf to save carriage for those coming on public transport. Or I could just get in a selection of J2O  (As long as someone else is bringing the vodka!) Or maybe we should try red needles?

The invitation is open to anyone in or near the UK. Please come and join us.

John ~

I can't help you on the other four, but I can certainly help address #5 for you. Your cats will be fine. If you set out an extra kitty litter [if they're that fastidious]; put several bowls of dry food; and put an extra bowl or two of water ~ they'll be fine and will be a measure more happier to see you upon your return. Unless shredding curtains is a threat, they'll hang in there [hopefully not literally, of course  ] until you get back.

It still doesn't look as if I will be able to make it. It sounds as if you are all going to have a good time. On the subject of red needles, I tried to do it when you were down here but the club wouldn't let me, damn commitees.
Any way have a great time perhaps if these meet-ups continue we, over here at least, will eventually get to meet the faces behind the boards.

well, I've booked a room for the night and my husband and I are looking forward to the evening, and to meeting some more forum members and seeing old friends again.

Are there any more of you out there who are able to join us next Saturday?

Hi Margaret, did you have a good holiday? It looks like being a good evening on Saturday. Pete will not be the only one bringing his guitar. There's a guy coming from the Sony board too. I gave him the link to this thread, and he says he came and read it, but he seems to be too shy to post on it. I hope he will not be too shy to give us a few songs on Saturday :)

I'm really looking forward to seeing you all.

Matron has allowed me a 'ticket of leave' for the Gloucester Meeting. She has promised that Albert will be well taken care of and she will read to him in the evening before he picks the fleas off his clack. (see other threads, reference fleas and clack)
Are there any thickets in Gloucester? I fear we may be ambushed by the South African Anti Post Person Piratical Popular Front!!

Byron
There are only puddles in Gloucester...no thickets.

Will you be bringing your guitar??

I will be going to a football match on the way down. I will be travelling via Coventry who are playing Cardiff City. It is very kind of them to bring the kick off time forward to 12:30 from 3pm so that it gives me more time to wend my way through the puddles. How considerate of them.
Estimated time of arrival in Gloucester should be late afternoon rather than early evening. If anyone is thereabouts at that time we could meet up before going onto the venue. Could meet by the big puddle next to the doormouse :)

My guitar has lane dormouse since I returned from a short holiday. My finger pads are now once again in a state of delicatness. Therefore I shall be bleeding a lot over the next few days as I prepare my finger pads for the accompaniment of musac, namely trying to open the blasted guitar case. I have spent too much time in this net zone and not enough in my music room ( Downstairs loo) However, the neighbours shall once again be treated to hours and hours of EFG, AFG, and no augmented 7ths. I know when to draw the line in the sand. (when I need a wee on a short holiday)
See you soon. If not before. Or even later than that.

Dear Linmag,
What's the address of the venue?
I hope to be meeting up with Margaret and "Byron", who seem to have a better idea how to get there than I do!
I'm looking forward to meeting you, and as many Cohenites as possible on the 18th. (It's a pity that JTS is so enamoured with the oval ball game!)
Andrew.

Andrew, I have just sent you a private apology, (and the details you asked for), but I wanted to put one here as well. I was sure I had sent you a private message or an email with all the details, but I can find no evidence.

Would anyone be interested in meeting for a meal beforehand? There's a pub about half a mile down the road from the venue where I could book a table. Email me if you are interested.

Pete, Gloucester has changed since the days of Dr Foster. The main puddle has now been turned into the canal basin at Gloucester docks, and is surrounded by renovated warehouses, museums, antique centres shops and pubs to give people better things to do than fall in the water. (Though the pubs may not have been the best idea in that respect.) Some of the smaller puddles were joined together to form the Gloucester & Sharpness canal, which allows boats to sail from Gloucester to Sharpness ( ) without interference from the Severn Bore, who lives just round the corner from us. The rest of the puddles were sold off in a job lot to Capability Brown, who used them as water features. So people in Gloucester do not get their feet wet nearly as often as they used to, and some of the residents are even known to stop wearing wellies occasionally in summer.

See you Saturday :)
