The Perth concert at Sandalford was selling so strongly - I guess it must have sold out by now. I managed to get a ticket for me and my friend - Feb 7th 2009 - I hope I don't die in the mean time. So excited. Tickets were dear but I'd have taken out another mortgage if necessary!
I also have to travel to Perth from the country (6 hours by car) and stay for the weekend but it is worth it. I've never seen Leonard Cohen in the flesh and this has to be one of the most looked forward to concerts I've ever, ever attended.
You did the right thing. Life is too short. I guarantee you wil leave the concert saying that it was worth every last cent!
Kindest regards,
Mary

Some of my friends in Wellington did not get tickets (the concert was already sold out). Is there any change of getting more nights for the Oz/NZ leg of the tour?
For the Wellington and Auckland shows, New Zealand’s best-known poet Sam Hunt will open the night. Sam Hunt has made a living for forty years by performing his poetry in pubs, theatres and schools.
I checked yesterday and there were still tickets available in Perth, I can't pay till next Thurs, so I am not looking again till I have money in hand (or on cc, as it may be).

I have never had the chance to see Cohen before, it has just been my dad's CDs for me my entire life.
Whilst it is possible to scrap together $120 or whatever for the bad tickets, I am getting the feeling the stage will be so far away that I would be better by the DVD version. I would love to hear of people that have been to a day on the green to give me some hope.
Any hope at all would be nice.

the venue will be nothing like the size of major outside venues [e.g. like Glastonbury in the UK] so relax and get a ticket
I know, I know. But I just had to borrow to go see my mother in the US for the last time before she passed away about three months ago, so..... Save and pay off the cc's as fast as possible. One more payment and those tickets are mine.
Have to say that I'm not even a Cohen devotee, but know enough about him to know he's a legend. I was willing to pay $300 that I can't afford for a decent seat to see the legendary LC, who may not be Downunder again for quite some time. To me, it's worth every cent, even though I'll be eating plain bread and butter for quite some time into the future.
According to an newspaper interview I read, this tour is to make some money because his ex-manager took all of his...and he's not even angry about it! WHATAMAN!!! WHATAMAN! WHATAMIGHTYMIGHTYGOODMAN!
Hope you find a way...when you want something enough, you will find it within yourself to get it!
GOOD LUCK! HOPE YOU CAN GET THERE!
P.S. I also have one single tkt to Bowral concert for sale at $300 due friend cancelling. Am driving from Canberra, so can offer a lift it that helps.
IF Tiaho still has that seat IM all for it...otherwise Ive decided Im going to bowral anyway! whatevr single seat I can find. a long train ride then bus then overnight in nice b and b ....
Our PM is giving all us pensioers etc 1000 bucks bonus and i cant think of a btter way to sepnd it than on seeing the master twice!
I am so happy now i KNow ive made the decision. I was thinking maybe going to melbourne if i could get a great seats in front few rows on ebay but its simply too steep considering airfares and overnights so bowral sounds lovely ...
Hahaha thats absolute gold! I'll bet Kev never thought he'd be shouting you to a weekend with Leonard! What a way to stimulate the economy
On another slightly related point, I ordered my tickets ages ago, but they haven't arrived. I wasn't worried because Ticketmaster site did say they don't send them out straight away, but has any one else received any tickets yet?
Depends what you mean by ages?
I purchased back in the pre-sale days
and I think ticketmaster states,
it may take up to 14 days for registered mail tix
to arrive. They did.
Jeeeeeezzzzz. I hope you went for the registered option!
In these matters, things do usually show up though

Preadhead, I went for the print your own option (with the barcode) for the Bimbadgen concert, so I can't help much. However, I don't know if our Ticketmaster operates the same way as the UK Ticketmaster, but some tickets I purchased for the July 17 O2 concert took ages to come through!
