Tchoc my dear friend :D . Now the world seems yet smaller as you too have seen the show. You should have seen how long it took me to recover from Dublin with my "never ending" energy  . I am not surprised you are speechless.

Who could say what Leonard is achieving on this Tour? Going back a few lines from your signature: "A saint is someone who has achieved a remote human possibility. It is impossible to say what that possibility is. I think it has something to do with the energy of love."

I appreciate your answer, Diane, but I am afraid that we are very very off topic. I don't care much, usually, but I feel indelicate to digress in a thread about a thank you to Jarkko.

So. I continue in a proper thread.

If I am writing things in the wrong place twice within the space of a week I clearly need to calm down. I do raise a glass to everything we would not have if not for Jarkko. And it is pretty immeasurable.

Oh, my, Jarkko... such beautiful and true words from Leonard, as he pays tribute to you with the perfect description:
. . . It grew,my work got known and,at a given point in time a Finn,Jarkko Arjatsalo launched the Leonard Cohen Files and became the secretary general of the party. It includes more than 800 web pages, fascinating archives.I understood it was a work of love,I started contributing and we became good friends".
You are so deserving of this. In so many ways, Leonard has shown you the depth of his appreciation 8) ... and now he continues doing so where so many thousands of people will be privy to his gratitude 8) .

Hearty congratulations from me, too :D .

Good on you. Good on Leonard. Such a dynamic pair... and true friends. You complement each other well.

Love,
Lizzy

I would like to add my voice to the chorus of grateful members of the forum.
This forum and the files provide a link for us people in the antipodes to have some semblance of connection with our european and north american friends with similar interests.

Thankyou Jarkko

.........

On the other hand, Jarkko you have been instrumental in bringing much jealousy and anguish to my household ;-)
Through this forum, I have been forced to witness people's pleasure and endless recounting of their many visits to Cohen concerts, while I languish with my ipod and red wine.
Andrew (Darby) will be beaming the next time I see him after his 3 concerts and Edmonton event. This is truly an intolerable state of affairs

Thanks again Jarkko
Cheers

I’m late coming into this thread, but would like to add something too.

I think/hope/know that Leonard realises Jarkko is worth his weight in gold, as we say…

I know how hard it is to be the webmaster (and buffer against the public) for a popular artist. I used to run a site myself for John Larkin (aka “Scatman John”) who had a different kind of fame to Leonard’s in that it was short but very intense (No.1 records in 20 countries and all that). You get the wonderful, appreciative and lovely fans, and you get the downright crazy nutters. The sheer number of requests and questions (and sometimes, bribes) received are amazing – in fact I am surprised Jarkko manages to still do a full time job! On top of that he manages to keep the site up to date, be first with information, and keep order on the forum, without losing his temper. Much respect…

Of course I thought someone like that had to be slightly mad. However after meeting him and Eija they surprised me by being genuinely nice, warm, hospitable people, who just happened to be fans of Leonard Cohen. I am still looking for signs that they are insane, but so far they are disappointing me… ;-)

Many thanks for all your hard work, Jarkko. It’s very much appreciated.

Gina

If it were not for this site I wouldn't have managed to see Leonard perfrom live three times. Also, through the accurate and up-to-the-minute information posted here I have also managed to meet Leonard personally on several occasions. Well deserverd recognition and gratitude Jarkko.

Thanks for everything.

Eric.
