As I posted before I am going to NYC (yeah my first trip) anyone want to meet up for a drink, (or many drinks) the day of the show or the day before -I am staying at the Waldorf hotel with a friend. I have no freaking clue where that is but I think it is pretty central to downtown Manhattan?? Let me know we can arrange something I fly out on March 7th and leave on the 12th.

Couldn't they have found a better picture for Madonna? One with her whole face showing, maybe?

That picture of Madonna is really annoying me too! I can't stand looking at it. I hope that's not the picture they'll be using in the TV Commercials on VH1 for the Rock Hall. She looks like some creepy woman sneeking up from behind.

Also, VH1 still has not taken off that awful picture of Leonard Cohen from his VH1 page and found a better one.

You know the one taken from a painting and has that thing, whatever it is sticking out of his mouth, which really isn't in his mouth.

Tell VH1 to remove this picture completely off their site!!

All of you should email and complain: viewerservices@vh1staff.com Tell them to find a better and more recent picture. An actual photo and not something they cut out from a painting. He's the only major artist on the site that they did that to!

That picture is one of Martin Beek's. I rather like it.

I have nothing against the painting itself, but for a website like VH1, they should have used a professional photo (a head shot of Leonard Cohen) with only his face in the picture and nothing sticking out of his mouth.

This is the photo MTV uses on their Leonard Cohen page:

Much Better! :D

I've mentioned this before.

Madona and John Mellencamp: these are the photos used on their VH1 pages. Long and narrow. VH1.com has changed the photos they use for them over the years because they are mainstream artists, but VH1.com has always used the same photo for Cohen, ever since the site openned up in the 90s. If you check, most artists on VH1 have the same, long and narrow photos on their pages.

I recall "The Dave Clark Five" singing "Bits and Pieces", "Glad all over", the London response to The Beatles (back in '65).
Meanwhile, Leonard Cohen had written..
Let Us Compare Mythologies
The Spice Box of Earth
Flowers for Hitler
Parasites of Heaven

and chuck in a couple of bits of fiction too......

The Favourite Game
Beautiful Losers.

This was necessary ground-work for Leonard, unlike the Dave Clark Five, John what's his name, and the rest of the naturally talented inductees

Leonard Cohen shouldn't attend such an event: maybe he could say "Look, it takes me a long time to get my trousers on, and off, so let's give this a miss".

It's only my opinion 8)

Andrew.

It's already been made official. Leonard Cohen will be attending and performing at the 2008 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

Who's in the 2008 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

Loved: Singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen (left), Burlesque Girl and Bono in the concert documentary 'Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man.' Cohen is the man, indeed, as far as the 2008 Hall of Fame is concerned. The annual induction ceremony will be held March 10 in New York.
