I'm stuck in London at the moment and can't get a flight 'till at least Wed evening to Dublin and then a bus back to Galway (hopefully).
What a great weekend....I mean week....or two weeks by the time I get home. God bless my brother who lives near Gatwick airport and a very understandable boss...
Joe.
Dear Joe,
I hope your boss's generosity extends to granting you leave in June to come hear the crickets break our hearts with their song on Hydra!!!

Thanks, Mirka..just trying to place people....
Nice video of Leonard's comments before "Anthem" - thank you to fans
and comments about Caesars - and recitation at beginning of "Anthem" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlkwFI3ZNW0
I just recieved the two CDs from the Vegas-Concerts, two outstanding performances, especially the Closing Night... But we coud not be attending this two shows, I will sure regret it for the rest of my lifetime. Leonard and the Band was in such a good mood. Let's all hope, that we do will meet us again, all of us and Leonard with the UHTC! In the past 2 1/2 years we coud be sure, that Leonard and the UHTC playing in a City near and we knew, that we have some Tickets for some of the Shows... and now, it's over... It is so sad. Every one of the Shows that we have seen in this Time was special in his own Way. I just wish, that we can buy a Concert-DVD from the Closing Show or from another 2010 - Perfromance. I think, the Music was a little bit different, every Musician was more "free" in his own Way, the Feeling was more relaxed and intimate. We have the feeling, that we knew what will be next, but sometimes Leonard surprises each and every one of us... I just want to say, that the Shows "grown up" and be "fresh" and "new" and "special" in a Way. The last Perfromance is just 10 days ago, and we missing Leonard and the UHTC, we missing the feeling and the knowing, that we have some Tickets left for the next Shows... I hope, you find out, what I meant.... I hope, that we will have some opportunitys more to go to Leonard Cohen Concerts.... But even, if it's not in our path: the last 2 1/2 years was an outstanding Time in my Life... It was an honour...

I'm relieved to know you're home safely, Willy and Wijbe. Such a parking lot scene with Leonard literally coming through .
Joe ~ I sure hope you make it home safely before Christmas! I've heard on the radio that some of the people stranded in Europe will be there past Christmas! Someone has already expressed thankfulness on this, but how much more abysmal all this would have been had the snow set in BEFORE the Las Vegas concerts!

Exactly! It doesn't bear thinking that this would have happened before Vegas. There were shaky moments but nothing like now. Dublin Airport is closed again with more snow due tomorrow. Joe maybe you should look at trying to fly to Shannon instead as it is open.
You know we have really being spoiled with the amount of videos available from the final night. Even before viewcameratovideo's I'd already over 30 saved in a playlist on my channel. Thank you to everyone who captured these precious memories for us.

Thanks Susy. It is still sinking in
Yes I agree the woman jumping on stage didn't want to hurt Leonard however it was still a bit silly to do. I think she did probably just did it in a split second without thinking of what might happen. Leonard was shocked though and didn't know what was happening. This was told to me by one of the Webb sisters when we spoke later that night. Being as ever the caring gentleman he is, he was worried there was something wrong with her!

There was something wrong with her, she ran onstage! Perhaps she wasn't there the night before to see the other stage-runner get tackled by security (and where was security, who had been so omnipresent every other moment?). Although a lot of us may want to run onstage to give Leonard a hug and whisper in his ear, we recognise that such a thing is extremely irresponsible, and we don't do it. Besides, if everyone were to do it, it would be mayhem up there. She also ran up there when Leonard had his head bowed, and he didn't even see her coming, so he could have been injured. It was a reckless, inappropriate and selfish action. Sure, she now has her own special little memory of the night, and nothing bad happened, but she acted with a shameless disregard for any consequences.

I second that. Shame on her. She was only thinking of herself and her own needs and disregarded an entire audience and most importantly, Leonard. That's not love or respect, just someone interested in taking. I don't know where security was. Thank goodness Joey was there.
