Hi G. Re your "murderers' row" drawings and their quotes. While both of these evil people were/are obviously insane, Kohberger's indicates he is also a liar while Manson's reveals some semblance of truth.

hello, so good to get a message from you. murderers, yes. perhaps more in that category will appear over time. interesting faces are not limited to only nice people. kohberger will never walk free again, a satisfying fact - or at least will be after sentencing on 23 july.

on to a lighter theme . . .

I would greatly prefer not to see any more drawings of
"interesting faces" belonging to the scum of the earth, individuals who are so vile and depraved that they are able to commit such heinous acts, robbing innocent people of their lives, and leaving nothing but suffering, grief, and despair in their wake. They make me sick. Surely, amongst the more than 8 billion people in the world, there are more than enough "nice" ones to fill your sketchbooks for the rest of your life, rather than depicting these soulless monsters along with cute little quotes that make them sound innocent and/or charming (which they most certainly aren't).
And, please don't reply with any of that
"art is supposed to be disturbing" rubbish. Thank you in advance.

Art is supposed to be disturbing.
And others’ opinions aren’t rubbish.

You again. I can't say that I'm pleased to "see" you. Do you lurk around here until I make a post, just to make a snarky reply? You never did answer my question as to why you feel the need to pick on me. I'm actually a nice person, and maybe you are, too, but clearly you have some sort of hang-up about me. Perhaps I should be flattered.
Nonetheless. Some opinions
are rubbish, deal with it.
I have actually discussed Geoffrey's "opinions" on art previously, at some length, and my reasoned position is that art is and can be many things, including but certainly not exclusively, "disturbing" -- it can be the opposite of disturbing, too -- art is not, never was, and never will be just one thing.

thank you, lisa. good to know how these pictures are received. you write with a passion and directness that can only be cherished.
this reply will be kept brief for fear of adding to the conflict that seems to have developed.

'rubbish' can have value; can even be turned into art.

great, abby (wow!) - sketches can often be more interesting to look at than colour images. yes, bugs are real cool, like lisa says. one or two of the pictures below are also quick sketches, although fifteen minutes is not easy to beat!
take care, and keep them coming!

Yes, Geoffrey!
Art should be disturbing.
It isn’t all tea and oranges, sleepy golden storms and long-stemmed roses, it’s the baby stillborn, the beast with his horn, the girl waving a Nazi dagger, the girls who wander by mistake into the mess that scalpels make….
Defy the censor!
Down with censorship!

hi, and thanks for another message.
yes, leonard wrote frequently about murder and killing, and some of it quite provocatively. it's a little bit confusing, because he was known as a kind gentleman. anyway, censorship is a complex issue, and there more than likely exists a grey area between what is acceptable and what is not. it's impossible to please everyone, thankfully. criticism and disagreement can provide a lot of meaningful feedback, as you certainly know.
this is just a gallery where people can show their work, and it doesn't need to be great. the more perfect a picture is, the more boring it can be to look at - so let's get going!
