I have again contacted POD ( and some of the organizers directly ) regarding the concern some Members have expressed over the Ticket allocation directions.
My own arrived for Sunday stating:
Block A Flat -- Row K --Block B. ...( )
My confirmation on the day of purchase stated : Block A Row K.
no mention of B . ( this just might breach some contract law or other )
It does appear that they may be extending Block A on either side of the stage for both concerts,
which may mean that some of us might be pushed to the side wings and end up sitting directly under and close to the screens with very much restricted view of the stage.
I have told them that this would be bad-practice, and would make a mockery of the pre-sale arrangement.
If this is so I am not sure what we can do about it ...any ideas ?
To further add to the confusion tickets remain on sale this morning for seats in Block A, ( a.k.a. Block B. )..a full week after they first went on sale Possibly there may be a genuine explanation. In the meantime we should await their reply .

I've emailed POD too as I like you reakon those of us with seats that were close to the edge will be shoved out to the side. Has anyone seen tickets with block X/Y on them? I checked TM to see if those blocks come up as an option to buy and they don't. My tickets are for Block A Row J seats 22-23 Block A and something tells me this will be in X. Yours by the sounds of it will be in A Carlowmike and if people have Block A Row whatever Block C they will be in Y. I was explaining this to my friend last night and she is absolutely furious at the possibility we might just be staring at a screen. To think there was already 100 seats a row in Block A and now all these extras either side. It will be interesting to see what they reply with this time. But if this is the case there isn't really anything we can do about it but at least we will know in advance. Imagine arriving at the gig to discover this!!!!!!!

Many of us who purchased seats in the presale are receiving these "newly allocated" seats when the tickets arrive. For Saturday, when I purchased my ticket on TM, all I knew was that it was Block A Flat, Row D, Seat 58. Wonderful! Now Block A is added at the bottom which probably means waaaay off to the right. I'm with musicmania's friend and will be FURIOUS if I'm staring at the screen...or sitting in front of the speakers.
Carlowmike...your tickets in Block A Flat, Block B will put in in the now coveted centre section! Mine for Sunday are Block A Flat, Row B, so will also be in the centre section it seems, but the promoters are going to have many VERY unhappy fans.

Well I've contacted both POD and Ticketmaster so may just wait and see what they say. There was 100 seats per row originally I think, so hopefully your ticket won't be to bad especially when you are travelling so far. Roll on Tuesday til I get a reply from TM. I got an automatic reply saying that they would get back to me on the next business day which is Tuesday as Monday is a bank holiday in Ireland.

Depending on the reply from POD there might just be something we can do.
The Concert is subject to Licence and strict regulations regarding same,
i.e. number attending, general layout + Health and Safety and also Insurance issues.
As far as I know the fee agreed with Leonard's management is already settled so extra numbers do not increase
this payment.
By-the -way I know this practice is a regular occurrence with outdoor concerts (and some indoor ones as well ).
If their explanation / reply casts doubt on any of the above conditions "they're going to hear from me"
( and us ).
So lets hope that this is just a well intended rearranging of seating for our benefit and Ladydi should you be moved to one side and I am centre I will insist you swap seats with me, You who have travelled so far .....

It is a regular occurrence to add extra seats but not to move existing ones. I know with the O2 they wait to see what way the stage will be before releasing tickets at the side as they want to make sure everyone can see the stage. IF our seats are moved I reakon POD or whoever looks after this should have created special seat numbers for X and Y separate to those already sold for Block A. On the seating plan they are separate but not available in the options to buy. Should we get replies that our seats are moved I think we should get as many people as possible to complain!
BTW That is a lovely gesture you have made to LadyDi.. You are a gentleman!

2012 Austin x 2/Seattle/Vancouver/Montreal x 2.

All of the above sounds possible but I'm also just wondering if the BLOCK A bit or BLOCK B bit at the end of the ticket actually is really only telling us what entrance to use to get to the seats we've bought. Maybe people towards the front of the 'red' Block A will be using the entrance for Block A, while further back and depending on what side of the row the seat is on you could be using the entrance for Block B or C or D. These blocks are tiered and if you've got to climb up I'm thinking you may have to go to the front of the tiers to do that?!
Essentially I'd really like not to be stuck straining my eyes infront of the big screen but even more essentially I'd like to have a dry seat so, if it doesn't bucket rain down, I'll be eternally grateful.
Carlowmike while it will be very annoying if we're stuck way out at the side and it would make a mockery of the presale ticketmaster seem to have covered themselves with this sentence. "Seating charts reflect the general layout for the venue at this time. For some events, the layout and specific seat locations may vary without notice." its at the end of the seating charts.

First of all, dear carlowmike...thank you so much for your generous offer but I couldn't let you do that! We are all in this together, and if it turns out as we fear (yes, I'll wait patiently -thank you Jarkko-), then at least I know my seat for Sunday will be in the centre. However, burningviolin might be on track too with the idea of various entrances! At least that sounds positive
Once again...thank you SO much Mick....xoxo

ps: bv - yes, ticketmaster does indeed make sure to cover themselves for any situation!
A charity tie-up
I think it is nice that the businesses of Sligo are going to get such a boost but I suggest that there could also be a charity tie-up as people are going to have a few bob to hand for sure.
It would be nice if some sort of commemorative thingy for about 3 or 4 euro was produced for the LC weekend, with all profits going to local Sligo charities and other local good causes. Could be something a bit "dull" (to me but I would still buy it) like a booklet or badge but I suggest - the Leonard Cohen/Yeats Sligo cup cake would be easy enough to produce and a good seller... (that bit may not be serious, but the concept is serious). Or if not something to sell then Sligo charity buckets in town and outside the venue?
Thank you rpan,
your suggestion was put to the "Coming Together For Sligo" meeting and they intend to nominate a few local worthy charites as beneficiaries of a "not-in-your-face" collection, placing boxes and buckets around the area.
I did manage to get a word in for "The Holy Angels Day Care Centre" in Carlow for consideration, after that it is up to the Sligo committee to decide, thanks again, nice thought.

I was contacted today by Forum members, Leslee and Alan,
they are getting married in Northern Ireland on the morning of Saturday 31st of July.
Following a small reception in Northern Ireland for family and friends they are coming to Sligo in order to have the first
dance of their married life to the music of Leonard Cohen,
In Leslee's words "they wish to spend the first day of their married life with their fellow Cohen fans and the great man himself ".
They will be staying in Rossnoulogh near Sligo.
They contacted me to see if I could arrange a favour for them. (I will try later ).
They will be joining the pre-concert meet-up in the Garavogue.

if you check with the Westlife concert for the same venue on Friday they have block x andd y on sale separately. Think the additional block a or b is the side to enter the seats as thery wont want 100 people all arriving at the same side of the block.
Hi, was up at Lissadell last week-end. It's a great spot but would be worried about traffic on the road out there
2008 Kilmainham (Dublin), Amsterdam
2009 O2 (Dublin), Nimes
2010 Lissadell (Sligo),
2012 Kilmainham (Dublin)
2013 Bercy (Paris), O2 Dublin
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard

Up-date on parking and traffic plan for Leonard Cohen Concerts in Sligo.
There are at least two bus companies providing a shuttle-bus service.
Bus Eireann have stated that in the coming week they will furnish a list of pick-up points, fare etc.
The first entrance to Lissadell , down by the sea, as you go into the grounds, will be reserved for Parking.
No idea yet of capacity.
Some local land owners in the surrounding area intend to open their fields for car parking.
The Gardai are at present working on a traffic plan cooperating with Robbie Butler, Robbie is traffic manager planner with POD, combined with recommendations from local business interests and suggestions from some of our own Forum Members ..
Buses and cars will be directed to travel on seperate roads to the Venue.
It is advised that as many as possible should avail of the shuttle bus service or taxi cabs to and from the Venue.
Park and Ride facilities will operate from several large car parks adjacent to the town.
There will be plenty of car-parking space available in Sligo town and environs.
Pick-up points will operate from all major hotels in the area.
The taxi service is a means of travel that should be considered,
price range 5 euro per passenger ( group of 4 ) to Lissadell.
