The random moment I am adoring today is this moment when I paused all my thoughts and movements for a second, to think what Leonard has given me throughout all this time I'm a fan. Very little time, indeed, but filled with deep and meaningful little random moments, most of which I could never find the words to describe and post here. What I'd like to say is that I'm very happy about all the friends I've made here and that it feels great to belong with you in this "order of the unified hearts" and I'm glad Leonard exists, because this music and these feelings he's giving us, it's just.. so f*cking awesome! (sorry to put it like this, but nothing else seemed good enough!). I cannot imagine living without it anymore and I'm sure many of you feel the same.

Anyway, another more practical "random moment": I've been ill during the last week and feeling very rotten, but at some point, I just grabbed my earphones and listened to A Thousand Kisses Deep. It's not much of a healing song, me thinks, but Leonard's voice just made me calm down. That's the plan 'till the illness is over: Beatles in the morning to cheer me up and Leonard in the evening and at night to calm me down. Wish me good recovery.

Ha, wouldn't you just love to meet a young man this way? :D

Awwww Stamanatina,

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Maybe if you listen to LC in the morning also, your recovery might be even quicker ;-) :D

Warmest regards,
Mary

Sorry you are feeling poorly Stamatina, hope you have a speedy and full recovery. Sleep lots and eat lots (as soon as you feel you can eat) usually does the trick and speeds things along nicely.
As a great fan of The Beatles as well as Leonard, MaryB, I can think of lots of Beatles songs to get up to, i.e. Here Comes The Sun, Good Day Sunshine, and many more. Leonard wake up songs, a bit more challenging. My pick would be I'm Your Man, that would wake me up good a proper! Have you got a particular Leonard choice in mind for Stamatina? I know we are going a bit off-thread with this but only for a few moments.

Waiting For The Miracle...
Generally the most "heavy" songs, in music and vocals, I mean. They help me concentrate and breathe steadily.

I'm feeling better today, thank you for your wishes. :)

Michelle and Eight Days A Week are the ones I've been mostly listening to. The type of music I choose to listen to in various situations is always quite weird, but it works for me, I guess.. :)

Sorry you're feeling ill Stamatina - Leonard does sound like the best medicine though! I'd choose Take This Longing and Love Calls You By Your Name, his voice is like honey in those... *sigh*

Funnily enough, I find the most therapeutic 'song' of Leonard's is Tacoma Trailer. It could calm even a crying baby and send her to sleep peacefully I am sure.

I recorded a film from tv over the weekend - The Life Of David Gale - which I decided to watch this evening. Lo and behold music being played at a party (yes, a party) in the film - The Future, Leonard Cohen. A special little moment which was completely unexpected. I had no idea it was used in the film, I had just been attracted by the fact Kevin Spacey and Kate Winslett were in it and they are not usually in rubbish.

When I was over at son Leonard's house minding the grandkids, I had my laptop with me. Catching up on the internet for all things LC, I played a Youtube link posted that day. My 9 year old granddaughter excitedly came running over, "Is that Leonard Cohen?"

Naw, it was Bob Dylan from a link on http://1heckofaguy.com/2010/04/27/bob-d ... s-jukebox/

Well, at least she knows the name, Leonard Cohen. :D

Today, just a few minutes ago, I was just listening to the TV and a report came on about our TV Logie Awards and I heard a very familiar song being sung with a familiar voice. No, it wasn't Leonard but kd lang singing Hallelujah. Seems Susan Boyle pulled out and kd lang very willingly accepted the invitation to perform.

"To be honest, I am always so happy to be in Australia and this is a small way to say thanks to everyone who has been so supportive of me down there for the past 20 years,'' she said." On the ABC site she also said, "I'm honoured to be included in the TV Week Logie Awards because Australia feels like my second home".

Just a note that she sang this song live :D

This morning my radio alarm woke me to the sound of Adam Cohen singing Take This Waltz (in Spanish). What a great start to the week, I thought. Then when I was eating breakfast Leonard came on singing Everybody Knows. Then to top it off while I was driving to work they played Teddy Thompson singing Tonight Will Be Fine. Gotta love the CBC!

After he finishes a serious recitation on his DVD London .... he says aaawright to change the mood for a new song....
Also I wonder how many of his fans have called their sons Leonard. I would have myself if I had been a little earlier to the enlightened:)

hehe, I don't know that I could give a little boy the name Leonard in this day and age, but I must confess that Leo is on my shortlist
