Wendy - This is not a fuzzy photo, but a shimmering one!

Arlene - A beautiful reminder of how priveledged we all were to attend this memorable concert together.

I've decided that next to Closing Time, this is my favorite video from SJ: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBI0Syczmkg
It's Aint No Cure, so it's early in the show, but I think Leonard already suspects this is going to be a wild audience. Watch from about 1:00 (actually start at 0:55 to see cute mouth wipe, or whatever that is that he does  ) When he starts in on the verse "I'm aching for you baby"...it's such a knowing smile he gives, like he is thinking "oh boy here comes the screaming." Then he is practically cringing (in a bemused way) when singing "need to see you naked".

I hear myself there at 1:10. And others. You know who you are.

It's a gorgeous video (of course, it's IrishAl). It's like LC is looking right into the camera at times.

That is a goodie Mnkyface - I like at 1:29 of Sir Albert's video too - when Leonard turns to his ladies while they are singing "there ain't no cure" - as if he is just thinking about this for the very first time EVAH    and repeats, agreeing with them "ah, there ain't no cure."

More video from Bgood11 -

"I'm Your Man" - Some terrific views of Leonard's foot/body work - like - starting around 0:52 :D ; and nice solo from Dino at 2:24; but new is Leonard, after he pleas, laughing and turning around to look at Roscoe. Roscoe gets the spotlight treatment (2:17 & 4:30) for "Pleeeeeeeeeese" (TM Roscoe Beck);

Suzanne - good video from above of the green lights starting at 0:34

Hallelujah & The Gypsy Wife (partials)

And one more from Bgood11 - with that interesting view of the stage from the the side and above - gives you an idea of the spacing on the stage that you don't see with a front view -

I love your take on this one. :D I always like the interchange between LC and Dino (about 2.15) when he sings, "I see you in the subway. I see you riding in the bus". Dino plays his intrepretive short blasts of traffic sounds on his golden sax and they exchange twinkling smiles. :D That just makes this extra special. And I agree with you, this is a gorgeous video!

Arlene, thank you so much for sharing your photo with the Sabbath candles and the green light - obiviously found at the right moment.

Hey Diana and Mary B.,

Did you know that your antics at the SJ concert has been profiled in Dr. H. Guy's presentation of the medical condition 'Cohenphilic Personality Disorder?

Sir Albert* also uploaded "Dance Me To the End of Love" a couple of days ago (along with "Ain't No Cure ...')
Dino is wearing a suit jacket at the beginning of the show but has already abandoned by "Ain't No Cure For Love" -

Hi Sheila...oh yes! I think it was Arlene who mentioned it to me right away! But fortunately I have no disorder and am perfectly normal. ;-) Is this called denial?

What a spectacular show!

Congrats to all Cohen fans for making the American Tour such a success! You, American friends, really know how to have fun! (Imagine Europe doing it? :( Naah... too bad us Europeans are so conservative...)
Pity I only saw it through your eyes (and YouTube excerpts), but you seem to have made it work wonders!
Looking forward to 2010 concerts!

Oh no Carmen! I had a wonderful time this past summer following the tour in Europe, vicariously, on YouTube. There were lots and lots of wonderful things that happened at your concerts - both onstage and in audience participation. I saw them on YouTube and read people's accounts here.

How about the show in Colmar - the boxing gloves and the stethoscope? The video is sideways - but it does offer proof.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gBDjNxC3-g

And the wonderful times when the whole audience broke into song during "So Long Marianne."

And I forget which concert and so can't present the video right now - but Leonard swiping Dino's hat - and Dino snatching it back.

I'd say that the Summer 2009 tour was a tremendous success and that you Europeans had a wonderful time - while we North Americans watched in envy not knowing that we were about to be blessed with a few more shows over here!!

Indeed you are right, sturgess. We tried our best, all of us, in all cities - just to show him and the band our love and enthusiasm. But San Jose still remains one of a kind!
It also opens "new frontiers" for next year's shows, doesn't it?

Yup - and the love and enthusiasm came through loud and clear on those videos from Europe that I watched.

Actually, I think that every show is special and "one of a kind." Particularly for those who attended.

Me? I'm a bit partial to the show I went to at the Tower Theatre in Philadelphia. Jarkko had said that it was going to be a magical night - and it was. I just know it was the best of the best and no one will tell me differently.  As was the show at the Academy of Music here in May.

And for all of them - no matter what part of the world - I say "wish I were there."
