Fans are fans regardless of how they express their love of leonard! I've been waiting for this for a very long time and feel through my years of devotion to the great man I would feel an injustice if i was denied a presale ticket purely because i chose not to post an a forum!!!

This is a great moment, embrace it folks and don't destroy it - 1 post or 1000 - we're all fans,

You have, though... on March 7, 2008 ;-) . The Forum is also only one of the 'venues.'

I agree with this. Let's not try to exclude people. I do find it amusing that all these lurkers have suddenly signed up. But I'd have done the same!

What bugs me is that touts will have been signing here. But there's a saying: Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

Think of Jarkko, doing this for us, and now having to read all this. It's not in the spirit of Leonard Cohen.

Good luck everyone!

Wise words. :D

Random fact of the day: if you type leonard cohen generosity in Google you'll find 147,000 web pages!

Do you know what will someone just PM me when this crap is all over and done with I will stop posting until then. It is driving me bats.

Diane no one is trying to exclude anyone I am getting pig sick of the whole thing. I will take my mundane drivel elsewhere.

The only criterion I would use is that tickets should be sold only to those who will listen respectfully. I mention this because the last time I saw Mr C the experience was ruined by two drunken karaoke singers in front of me (who were thrown out I'm pleased to say). Anyone know how to prevent that.

Please stay Paula, I enjoy your mundane drivel and your humour and down-to-earthness on the forum. Hope we meet up again at one of the concerts.

I agree Diane, it's inevitable that touts will find this - but in saying that so will many true leonard fans who have been eagerly waiting for just this announcement!, so there's a positive to the negative - of course fans are going to sign up for a chance to see the man live and with a ticket limit PP hopefully the touts don't do much damage!!!!!!! :D

The other alternative is that they cancel the presale they have so generously offered - and I'm sure no-one wants to see that happen :( I can't believe that this has turned so sour so such a joyful occassion

And Paula - seriously I'm a huge LC fan and a "forum lurker" and everything that your against - but all fans should have an equal chance at these tickets. You have your opinion and have wound yourself up over this whole thing - but a fan presale should not exclude those don't post on the forum (I know lizzytysh, I broken my silence !!!!! )

Cheer up - Lenny is coming to town!

I agree with Jimmyprofit. Just because this is the first forum I have ever posted to, doesn't mean that I'm not just as big a fan as everybody else. I had no idea that joining the forum (months ago by the way) may mean that I had a chance of advance tickets, but I'm certainly not going to pass up on a chance to see the man himself - or feel guilty about it. It's a wonderful bonus!

All the mud-slinging aside, I wonder (although it might be in the front pages, which I've not read in entirety), how is Ticketmaster going to determine who is a member and who is not? Is Jarkko going to have to send a list to all Tix outlets? Even then, how do we verify our 'membership' on the phone?

I really don't think this is what Leonard's camp had in mind - so I think, yes, Red Poppy, I'm getting out my Halo Polish, that if it's going to cause such a rift and cause Jarkko so much grief, that that the tix should be offered to the general public like any other sale. I want to see Leonard just as much as the next person, but I've come to be very disillusioned with the way in which people are seeming to climb over the dead bodies of their friends to get first in line. That was never the intent, I'm sure. If it divides people, and puts one group against another, chuck it, although my first choice of words were not 'chuck it', but very close. I've lived all these years without seeing Leonard, but have loved him just as much as those that have. I don't think another brawl is going to bring us closer. This forum would be a frightful place, if after the concerts, so and so came to brag that they got tix over their fellow members.

I'm not going to say anything further, I'm just putting in my own two-bits, as is my right. I hope it works out well, but at this stage, it sure doesn't seem like much good will come out of it, other than the choice seats gained by a rare few.
