henning ...if my suggested method of vetting applications goes ahead then dave would be disqualfied on the grounds that he was born in liverpool which is technically a suburb of dublin......also liverpool despite it being inconveniently separated from ireland by the irish sea is regarded by many to be the new capital-of-ireland-in-waiting for when the euro finally collaspes along with the whole of the rialtas na héireann.....so definitely no scousers

.....btw we are still waiting for jarkko to dispell the rumour that this father was a sheep farmer from tipperary before his application can be approved.......

.....ta ken

Dianne pointed me here. Ireland good choice no planes involved or a small flight. Unfortunately I have Irish ancestors on the Hannigan side but I hope to be accepted on the basis of the amount of potatos I can eat!

Paula why did Diane have to point you here ? Isn't it your daily job to check this thread ? The funniest thread in the world without any concurrence. Jarkko tried to split it into a Galway thread, oh my you should have heard me scream at him. He still must be in sort of shock. I hope his grandpa was not a sheep chef in Tipperary.

Nothing so exotic: one of my gramps was a diver and the other one a baker.
In spite of this, get ready for a irresistable team of Finnish Walkers!

I was a little upset at first to see that Jean and I were not on your list but I am prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt because you have obviously taken our accent as pertaining from the emerald isle either that or you just assumed Iwas a leprechaun .

Those considering attending the Galway weekend would be advised to take time out from this nonsense to consider important Irish flight information:

I know we've had this one before, but a reminder is timely.

Yes, 'twas Byron who first sent me that gem:-)

Gwen, as I am unlikely to make the Irish Springsteen gigs this summer I will prob. meet you for the first time on the walking weekend. All the best things are worth waiting for!

I know it's a long way off yet, but those travelling from the UK could organise car sharing and taking the ferry to Ireland instead of lining the pockets of the dreadful Ryanair man!
