When are the next dates and places?
Re: When are the next dates and places?
As far I know, Krakow does not have any appropriate concert venue. That's why there's almost no shows in the city except for the open air gigs. Plus the roads to there are awful, except highway from Germany to there... and it's not quite close to those traveling to London Olympics...

Any chances for a Greece Concert?
2012: 2x London (Wembley), Paris (Olympia) | 2013: 2x London (O2 Arena), Rome (Foro Italico Roma), Lucca (Piazza Napoleone), Manchester (Phones4U Arena), Birmingham (LG Arena) | 2014: ...

I am also wondering if it may be a concert in Greece, Athens to be exact. Greece falls into the Centeal-South Eastern part of Europe. And as far as an Olympic City, well this is were it all began!
Also it is very close to Turkey and easy to get to in time for the Istanbul concert on the 19th.

scocoh - I've no doubt that the tour will continue through much of next year, but I could do with the guessing games! I wish they'd give some idea of the overall plan, however vague. Must be tough on those who make travel plans, then find out something closer to home turns up. My intuition told me Amsterdam's next. so I suspect hansr's right (I'd like to go there again, but I'll be away then).

Hi scocoh,
you never imagined that one do you think the average fan, should not have not enough money, travel thousands of kilometers to the concert of Leonard? And such a fan that can do nothing else but wait for the next concert? I would not want to become a matter of concerts LC only rich people ... Many fans of the LC is very, very sensitive, but unfortunately not very wealthy people.

ghent, belgium is on 14th of august - copenhagen, denmark is on the 25th of august.
i'd say there is time and space for one show in between.
maybe amsterdam?

I think that perhaps scocoh used the wrong term that he was seeking, he ended up using the word "dedicated" (after an um, which signifies a doubt of the use of the term, tell me if I am wrong scocoh?)) and as you rightly say, Suzanne, a lot of fans ( medium, standard or large, dedicated or otherwise, not including the better off fans of courseSuzanneT wrote:Hi scocoh,

I guess it all started for me sometime around Christmas 1967 and now, goodness me, it's.........2018 and over fifty years later.
No one ever listens to me. I might as well be a Leonard Cohen record.

Re: When are the next dates and places?
I wish we could lay this ghastly word "fan" to rest, forever. To me the word conjurs up obsessive people (often teenyboppers) who project onto pop idols or football teams. Hence my recent send-up here, of what constitutes a "real fan". If you respect an artist, it's probably best to avoid behaving like a "fan". The important thing with artists like Leonard is the inner connection that you make with their work. This applies to old and new followers alike - there should be no grading, as such (I knew that I had found my world the first time I heard "Sisters of Mercy" in 1968).
How many concerts you go to depends on both how much money you've got and how important live music is to you. Since my small business has been running on a low flame for the past few years, I've been living largely on working tax credits (I have no savings, no pension, and no inheritance). Yet because live music is important to me, I've given high priority to concerts. However, I couldn't possibly consider travelling distances to see Leonard at present, and would not risk buying highly priced tickets for outdoor concerts. Hopefully I can save £200 to cover the cost of a pair of tickets for an indoor Leonard concert, assuming there will be one in London or somewhere close, sometime next year.
All good things, John E

scocoh - The talking during songs, I blame on the mobile phone generation, who seem oblivious to the fact that others can hear them ("fandom" is more related to herd mentality). What happened to the term "appreciation society"? I've always preferrred that to "fan club",
