Patientia est virtus, like already the rulers of ancient Romans used to say.
The tour management is now about to nail the final December dates.

Yes, but I am sure that the ancient Romans liked to be reassured from time to time by their Caesar.jarkko wrote:Patientia est virtus, like already the rulers of ancient Romans used to say.![]()

This ancient Roman thanks his Caesar for this reassuring information.

Re: QUIZ 2010: where is the last concert
going for another try given the latin quoted.... Vatican city

Phnom Penh - Nov. 27th
So a couple things...
I heard a rumor that this show in Cambodia might be the last show that Cohen will ever perform for the public. I have no way to substantiate this but am curious if anyone else has heard this?
I have never been to Cambodia but have always wanted to and think this would be a great way to see Leonard perform in an amazingly different environment. Just for fun I looked up tickets and it appears that the cheapest seats are $300.00... seriously? I saw him in 2009 in Seattle and tickets weren't even close to that. Anyone have a good reason why this would be the case? Especially in a place like Cambodia, although I'm sure Cambodians wouldn't pay that price. Any info. on this would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Dear Ghost (love the name!),
The guess has already been made...long ago. We simply need now to wait for confirmation!! It will not be long in coming. And then we will ALL know for certain!!

Re: Phnom Penh - Nov. 27th
Ghost, Cambodia is NOT the last concert stop. The tour will end (according to tentative plans not yet confirmed) in a city very far away - the distance is about one third of the circumference of the globe!

You mean about 1/3 circumference away from Cambodia?jarkko wrote:Cambodia is NOT the last concert stop. The tour will end (according to tentative plans not yet confirmed) in a city very far away - the distance is about one third of the circumference of the globe!
Oh well now I am stumped. South America? Central America?

One third of the circumference of the globe - that's 8,300 miles or 13,358 kilometers.jarkko wrote:Cambodia is NOT the last concert stop. The tour will end (according to tentative plans not yet confirmed) in a city very far away - the distance is about one third of the circumference of the globe!
The straight line distance between Las Vegas and Phnom-Penh / Pochentong is approximately 8244 miles or 13268 kilometers.
So - I'd say - Palace of Caesar. Las Vegas.

(But, I still maintain that Tvlcottih is a suburb of Philadelphia.)

Re: QUIZ 2010: where is the last concert
Betfairs latest odds based on Jarkkos tips are as follows:
11/4 Montreal
7/2 Cape Town
4/1 Toronto
5/1 Johannesburg
6/1 Durban
8/1 London
10/1 A City not on this list
12/1 Halifax
14/1 Los Angeles
16/1 St Johns
20/1 Las Vegas
25/1 Phnom Penh
40/1 Honolulu
50/1 Dublin
66/1 Denver
100/1 Paris
250/1Tvlcottih
1000/1 Yeovil
Please Note
1 'A City not on this list' is good value if our favourite Finnish accountant has spent too long in the Sauna and got his Mathmatical calculations wrong!
2 Phnom Penh offers good value if negotiations for the last concert are not successful and PP is the last concert this year by default.
3 South Africa was always planned as an option after Asia and is approximately a third of the circumferance of the earth away from Cambodia
4 It was always planned to revisit the eastern Canadian provinces and play larger venues than those used when the tour kicked off in the Spring of 2008 - this region is a third of the circumferance away flying the Polar route.
My pick? 1 Montreal 2 Cape Town
11/4 Montreal
7/2 Cape Town
4/1 Toronto
5/1 Johannesburg
6/1 Durban
8/1 London
10/1 A City not on this list
12/1 Halifax
14/1 Los Angeles
16/1 St Johns
20/1 Las Vegas
25/1 Phnom Penh
40/1 Honolulu
50/1 Dublin
66/1 Denver
100/1 Paris
250/1Tvlcottih
1000/1 Yeovil

Re: QUIZ 2010: where is the last concert
***Sauna is essential for us in Finland, but the world championship was absurd, pure madness (you may have heard that one of the finalists, a man from Russia, died, and the other one (a Finn) was badly burned). The organizers have announced that they will not arrange any more contests. For those who haven't read about this: the winner was the person who was the last to come out of the heat --- and the sauna was heating up all the time.>if our favourite Finnish accountant has spent too long in the Sauna and got his Mathmatical calculations wrong!
I like to go to the usual sauna, but wouldn't it also be great to participate in a beach party in warm surroundings in the middle of the cold and dark winter back home!

I think I better shorten Honolulu in the betting and include Papeete French Polynesia - I will the odds above in the light of Jarkko's latest hint
