Since the concert was close enough to San Francisco I think Fred could wear a polka dotted blouse ;-)

I am still trying to get back to normal(?) after my, ahem, 5 concerts in 9 days adventure in LC concert paradise. After reading through the Las Vegas and San Jose threads, I have come to the conclusion that our wonderful but wanton Diana should no longer be allowed to use the term "lady" anywhere in her forum name. :D Henceforth, she should go by the name of "lustydi". Diana, you really should ask Jarkko to change your forum name immediately.

It would be better if you do the camera work. You are much taller than I am. Then I will do the slideshow. All we need now is one of Jarkko's tantalizing announcements.
I know I hemmed and hawwed about more concerts, but by golly, withdrawal is already setting in! I'M IN! Put me on your list!

After I finally post my photos, you'll realize how superior yours are and withdraw your suggestion. Apparently height has nothing to do with quality.

I've been all over the forum looking for Jarkko's elusive announcement - nada - where is it????? And no, I refuse to be patient and will continue checking until something/anything materializes.

Arlene and Leslie,

You guys are TOO funny!   However, I will attempt to control myself at future concerts (I especially don't know how the Russians would react ;-) ) so perhaps I'll stick with my original nickname.... :D

I know Mary...where is this announcement that was supposed to be on the 19th??? I'm sure it has something to do with finagaling between AEG and venues but I know I don't want to miss out! We are held in a continual state of anticipation! :D

Diana don't you ever attempt to control yourself at future concerts! maybe in Russia but for the rest..you are the best and
letting go is always a good thing..and of course you did it in such an elegant way...strong but clear...
I turned around a few times to laugh and smile at you after the words left your mouth...
You are a wonderful woman and a great asset to see concerts with as underneath that smile we never know what will come out of your mouth and that is the great mystery!!!
I am so glad to have met you!

Err, are you sure there was going to be an announcement on Nov 19th?? As far as I can remember, what the note on the Files actually said was "Next update on November 19" which just happened to be Jarkko's first full day back after their trip to the States. Of course, it could be that he changed the note between when you first saw it and when I went chasing over to the Files after I'd seen your comment about an announcement on the 19th but ..

Either way, I guess we just have to be patient!

We arrived back home again Tuesday evening after a couple of days in San Francisco to round off our very short trip across the pond but things have been so frantic at work that I am only now beginning to find time to read the myriad posts which have appeared about the Vegas and San Jose shows and everything else whilst we were away.

What a wonderful time we all had - apart of course from that terrible "Friday 13th" moment when they announced that flight 3853 wasn't going anywhere and we were left wondering whether we would ever make it to San Jose ...

It was great to catch up with our friends from the fourm, new and old. Thank you all for making us so welcome amongst you. Thank you for organising our meet ups, name tags & lanyards, green lights, polka dot blouses, thank you for everything. (Actually, the green glow sticks were a fabulous way to make new friends on the night as well as I handed out my "spares"!)

Thank you to everyone who has posted their reviews, recollections, videos, photos etc. I still have a long way to go to catch up on everything but I have been feeling pretty emotional as I read all your posts. Heaven alone knows what I would have been like if San Jose really had been the last ever show!

Wendy

PS I finally made up for not having my camera out when I met Leonard in Nimes. Heading out to get some breakfast on Saturday morning we exited the lift and came face to face with Leonard who graciously consented to a brief chat and a picture before he left for the airport. Leonard said he remembered me from our meetings in Nimes and I don't doubt he did. He shook Tony's hand after I introduced him to my "long suffering" husband. Unfortunately, Tony had never used my camera before and we didn't want to hold Leonard up so the picture he took (no flash of course) is less than perfect but hey, any picture is a picture worth having! Lucky you, Wendy, it seems like a lot of us had Leonard encounters at the Fairmont! I'm so glad that I decided to stay there as I was originally planning to stay at another hotel.

Mexico, Mexico, did someone mention Mexico??? That would be totally doable!!!!! I didn't hear that country mentioned when trying to pry information out of people "in the know" in LV and SJ. Like others, LC concert withdrawal is beginning to set in (already!!). I had told myself that I would only go to Canadian concerts next year (if they happen), but Mexico........ :D Maybe we can throw sombreros onto the stage! I'll have to start thinking of an appropriate song!

At both concerts, because my hands were busy with the camera shooting video, I handed mine to other people around me. They were were happy and eager to participate. Tonight, Friday evening just before sundown, I happened to find one more glow stick candle in my handbag. So I "lit" the green candle, and then I lit my Shabbat candles and now the three candles are standing together. Then I cried. Thank you to all the "green candle" organizers. What a memorable night, just one week ago tonight.

Arlene I love seeing your Sabbath candles and the lone green glow stick! I would have liked to have kept one..considering at one point I had all 500 of them in my hotel room. It was funny to count out 250 and then divide them into 2 bags. One for LV and one for SJ.
Then to bring 125 to the buffet dinner so I could give them out there and then the other 125 at the concert.
I did this at both concerts and of course many many people were involved with smaller bags giving them out to people sitting next to them or outside the hall. What a memory...one week ago tonight!
It does bring tears to my eyes.
I am so happy to have met all of you that I did in person and to have 2-3 days together..and some connections were short but sweet but still oh so precious.
Yes I am so glad that was not the last concert.
Shabbat Shalom Arlene!
