Thank you gallina.
I just finished packing ( I think!)
Look forward to meeting everyone tomorrow. I hope my feet and my fitness carry me through the weekend, or others might have to carry me

Having just spent a most enjoyable evening with Henning on Tuesday watching Borusia Dortmund draw 1 - 1 with Arsenal in a fantastic stadium with great atmosphere.......
.......... I have no doubts the walking weekend will be considerably enhanced if it is de rigour that there should be a minimum of three hours discussion daily on the prospects of Hennings beloved Borussia Dortmund.
Sadly I cannot be with you all but I will check with Henning that the walks were sufficiently challenging and there was sufficient discussion on Borussia - organisers privilige?
Next time the Swiss Alps?

Sorry friends but we all are very busy having a great time with walking, talking, drinking, eating and most important of all - great company!
Henning did a marvellous job with organizing it all and Ken looks gorgeous with that beard.
Sorry for not putting up any photos yet but I am using the tappatalk app for iPhone Jarkko recommended. Someone just said that this must be the most photographed LC event so far so there will be loads of pictures soon...

Those are great photos, Maarten - thank you. I am home from Cologne, tired and happy. Even though I look a bit stressed on the photos, I enjoyed the 2. LC Walking Weekend in Haiger very much. The LC walkers were very disciplined and easy to handle. The weather gods were kind to us. I hope each and everyone gets home in good shape and with a smile on the face. I want to add a special thank you to Elke and Christoph for premium support during these days, also to my parents (BBQ support) and Kerstin (driving on Saturday).
On the last evening in Cologne the 2011 LC Walk Awards were presented and here are the winners:
9. Award for the most elegant walking style: Judy Remy
8. Award for the wildest walking hair style: Diane Williams
7. Award for the best handling of the walking sticks: Beatrice Salles
6. Award for the best mover on the dance floor: Wijbe Lageveen
5. Award for the perfect update on dance music: Maarten Massa
4. Award for the most genuine walking poet: Phil Liptrot
3. Lifetime award for never missing a train stop: Dave Everett
2. Lifetime award for the best excuses for missing the train stops: Ken Forsythe
1. Award for the best news during the walking weekend: Jarkko Arjatsalo
We don't know yet were the walking tour in 2013 will be. There were several suggestions but we will have to wait for someone with a serious plan to organize it.
I am off to bed.
H.

Dear Gallina,
I suppose the silence has several reasons : there was no internet in the hotel and it was even difficult to have a proper cell. phone connection - so we were in the middle of nature without all those facilities...and this was really a very pleasant sensation.....nowadays we are not used to this anymore , but not being connected for some day can also be a sort of purification from elettronic dependings

and beeing able to enjoy nature again makes really feel good.
Yes, we e had a very good time ... and many walked a lot and many drank a lot...many danced also a lot

...many talked and laughed a lot , many went to bed late ....many were very tired but only a few went early to bed .....and I am as usual one of those (me

)
saluti
Andrea

Henning, to repeat once more, we love you!
My lengthy visits to Amsterdam airport were hugely enhanced by those few days in Germany.
I miss everyone already. The prize I got for having the wildest hair of the weekend is already in pride of place on the mantlepiece. Phil, can we have your other fabulous poem up, also? I like the almost-group pic, Wijbe:-)
Andrea you're right about it being good to have an internet break;-)
PS Great set of pics, Maarten ... brings it all back. Now I must turn my mind back to work:-(

Hey guys,
it's great to hear you are ok, the pictures are gorgeous, you all look so beautiful, happy and relaxed.
Wow, did you dance as well??? Next time I'm coming too. I want to see Ciarán dancing. Or: I want to dance with Ken. Hopefuly he would teach me, because I can't dance at all
Nordic dancing
And Andrea: you are right. We are (and I am) technology-dependent. And impatient. But I was so excited to hear about that so special gathering.
Love: gallina (Szilvia)
