German resources confirm a possible dry and sunny weekend with temperatures between 16 and 18 plus 3 BVB points in Hannover.

Yes - good that Paula is in, sadly both Joe's had to opt out.

We're walking - yes indeed - we're walking.

Hey Henning, I'm sorry I can't make it for this walking weekend. :( My financial situation isn't as comfortable as I'd hoped it would be and so I'm actually quite sad I can't make Europe again this 2011 summer/fall. Oh well, such is life.

Anyway, I do have fond memories of that walk that we did in your winter of 2008/9 (which I believe is the one you'll all be doing), so at least I'll be able to visualise it. :D

Do have a great time (all of you) and please have a drink for me at the Erbse. ;-)

Cheers,
Andrew :)

Hi Andrew - yeah it's a pity that you live so far away down under while the most active Leonard Cohen fans are in Europe.

Yes - we will do the Erbse walk that we did together in that cold winter long time ago and I remember you jumping from one half-frozen puddle to the next to crack the ice like we did as kids, but it was totally new to you and so I generously let you have that fun despite the odd looks by the people that passed us by.

Next time my friend, when we do the alps I hope you can make it.

H.

Yes Henning, I really got a buzz from that activity which was missing from my childhood. Never too late, I say! ;-) Thankfully, I didn't "crack-up" in any other way on that walk!

Cheers,
Andrew :)

P.S. I approve of your new avatar too. 8)

Ah that looks wonderful and opens my heart - I am on the road to Dortmund in an hour to see them play Arsenal tonight - first Champions League match after nine years of absence - Irish supporters brought fortune back to Borsigplatz ! I will meet a Yeovil supporter before the match so wish me luck.

Hey Henning, even though my Arsenal supporting Irish uncle would not approve, I'll throw my support behind BVB for sure! ;-)

I may even get up earlier than usual to watch the match live (or some of it) on our wonderful SBS TV channel! 8) From what you said about your departure time, it is undoubtedly too late for you to read this post, and so wave to me, but I hope I can pick you out in the massive crowd anyway! ;-)

Cheers,
Andrew :)

Henning, BVB should have won, in terms of its overall dominance - Arsenal were lucky to come away with a draw, though I was pleased it wasn't a worse outcome for BVB (which looked likely up to last 5 minutes)!

Anyway, now you can enjoy your walking weekend without feeling too dejected. ;-)

Cheers,
Andrew :)
