Hi G,

Very clever and humorous drawing. As a cat owner, I must say that you have portrayed their postures and mannerisms perfectly. Most think of cats tracking down mice and birds, but many times I have seen our cats on the hunt for a spider or some other insect. Question to ponder: How many bugs would the average cat need to consume daily to sustain itself? Another question more appropriate for this forum: Can anyone think of any references to insects in Cohen's songs? I am sure there must be a couple, but I am coming up blank.

thanx guys. if you look in the cohen concordance there are loads of insects, especially crickets (nothing to do with sport, it's a sort of grasshopper that rubs its legs. i never seen one but leonard was obsessed with them, mentions them in several songs - and leonard hates sport, like me). also gnats, or mosquitos as they call them in america. i could go on. as for the lady's dress, yes it was colourful. i can post the photo i took, but only for a short while because i don't like posting pics of people if i haven't got their permission - and she didn't see me taking the picture. let me just finish this daim fløteis and i'll show you.

i think insects are just snacks to cats, like we humans might eat peanuts. cats seem to lose interest in something if it stops moving.

I am not sure that Leonard hated sports as much as you do -- he did play hockey in his youth, and sometimes he made references to hockey games and hockey players during his concerts, including the final world tour, and so he at least seems to have enjoyed a bit of hockey. (Some countries refer to it as "ice hockey", but in Canada, it is just "hockey".) I have enjoyed a variety of sports in my lifetime, both as a player and also as a spectator.

Gnats and mosquitoes are different species, although some of them share similarities: many places in the world have both.

Yikes, how could I have forgotten "crickets," he also mentioned them in "Night Comes On" and "Bunch of Lonesome Heroes."

agree, but for anyone bothered by thin nails, the lady talking in the video below seems to share important knowledge - and it can be 15-minutes well spent. i have several nail hardeners, and none of them have much of a perfume smell. no scent at all, as far as i can detect.

Thank you for your ongoing concern about my nails, but I did not watch the video you provided, simply because I have good strong nails -- not too thin, not too thick, slightly flexible, and therefore perfect for creating optimal tone while playing classical guitar! -- and thus I have no need to put anything on them, scented or unscented! The odd time that I break a nail and do not wish to play guitar nail-less, I simply use an artifical nail attached with a removable glue-dot for the duration of time that I am playing, and then I take it off as soon as I stop playing.

As for your new photo, you haven't changed a bit in the, oh, three weeks since you last posted a photo of yourself... Are you afraid that we'll forget what you look like?

Oh, sorry, maybe that previous commment was too sarcastic, so I take it back! It is wonderful to see you and your wavy locks, and so good to have an updated photo! I shall cherish it, copy it onto all of my electronic devices as wallpaper/background, print out a few copies and frame them so that I can put them all over my house, one in every room, and make a small copy for my wallet, so that at any given time and place, I will be able to look at your face!
