Not sure that Toronto really qualifies as Central Europe! Not sure Istanbul does either. In my book, Bucharest is Eastern Europe .. that leave Bratislava (unless the categorical statements that Zagreb is not in the running prove to be just a cunning trick!)milu wrote:Maarten

@ Paul
Oh, Central Europe - sorry, I did not read the whole thread!!
It's because I found this:
http://eventful.com/performers/leonard- ... 00001022-8
But in Toronto Leonard Cohen will become the Ninth Laureate of The Glenn Gould Prize and no concert anyway.
First moment it looked like a tour plan, Toronto maybe the opening concert. Should take my time -

Re: When are the next dates and places?
My guess is Amsterdam previously mentioned in this thread and an Olympic city plus near Ghent where there is a gap of a few days before the next concert in Copenhagen.

Gwen, I think that's what mutti was alluding to also, but I wouldn't consider Amsterdam as "central Europe"; however, it looks like there may be 2 cities named as new concert sites, so perhaps Amsterdam will be the "non-central" one. Always interesting to see the new additions! Waiting patiently for North America

Re: When are the next dates and places?
I sent this earlier as Maarten is aware of where I am going in May. I lived in this city in 1973 for a year and later in 1987.mutti » Sat Apr 14, 2012 9:53 am
I think its in a country where I am going to be this May.
I am 3 months too early so won't be able to attend any European concerts.
No need to answer if you aren't able to say until the announcement but that is my final guess.
Leslie
My husband is from the country this city is in. I didn't mention the name but now that it has been mentioned I might as well
as I guessed it before Musicmania!
If there is indeed a prize let it be known that my guess was Amsterdam. A few people know I will be in Dublin and southern Ireland in May but first
10 days in Holland.
I have no idea if I am right or not but its my guess as noted...if there is a prize we could split it Gwen! ha ha
PS Maarten I hope there is some sort of prize for this spontaneous contest...
Looking forward to Monday morning's announcement!

Hi Leslie, yes I knew about you coming to Ireland but not to Holland so had no idea where you were alluding to! A joint prize sounds good
Diana I don't consider Amsterdam central Europe either but couldn't see any other Olympic city not already on the announced list that has been mentioned in this topic except London and we already know only one gig in the UK this year and whatever about Amsterdam being central Europe London by no stretch of the imagination would fit into that category. Unless there is a September 21st gig announced I am also waiting for the North American/Canadian tour and to be exact Montreal

Re: When are the next dates and places?
Hi All,
My first post here ever. Has anyone suggested Athens as an "Olympic" city? Perhaps not Central Europe but near enough, I suppose....

Re: When are the next dates and places?
Sorry if my description was a bit inexact. As a matter of fact, the Central European Time Zone would be a better hint.

Olympic Stadium Amsterdam 21 and 22 aug.
The venue is used for the Olympic Games 1928. A long time it was a football stadium. Recently it has been rebuild. Now it is a smaller athletic stadium.
Hope it's true!!
