I intend to ask them directly if the chance arises in Dublin at their gig on Nov 10 but maybe someone knows for sure around here? Jarkko??
P.S. I had a brief chat a few weeks ago with someone reliable who has heard two of the songs from the album. He simply said they sounded amazing. I think he may have added "very bluesy" but I can't quite recall. Bob Dylan was floating around the same hotel and as he's my no 1 hero, had to cut the Len chat short. Never would have under any other circumstances. I have no other details alas.

My recollection is a bit hazy but I'm sure someone asked them at a show last May and that the answer was that they hadn't been involved with the new album.

A pity if that is the case. They contributed greatly to the tour imo

This morning I decided to visit this forum after a couple of months. I usually check this forum at least weekly, but this autumn I have had other things on my mind, happy ones. Our baby girl was born 25th of August

She is the prettiest baby ever! Her beautiful mother and proud 3 years old big brother are sharing my happiness
So maybe you all understand why my online time has been limited recently. And I'm not complaining about that
Anyway, this morning I decided to visit the forum, and what kind of news waited for me here! The new LC album is only a couple of months away! And there will probably be one after that! Wow! Can things get any better? Well, a tour including a concert in Finland would complete these great news, but as Jarkko said there's no information about touring yet. So now I enjoy these wonderful news

Jennifer Warnes, Anjani and Sharon Robinson will be on the new album as far as I know.
And I think they are the best choice. Their voices are beautiful and they have
accompanied and supported LC for such a long time.

The title will be "Old Ideas". All songs are brand new except
"Darkness", the only song from the recent concert tour.
Today is the two year anniversary of the
concert premiere of DARKNESS in Nashville on November 5, 2009.
I made a post about this on my Leonard Cohen Scrapbook which includes a link to my video of the concert premiere.

Lullaby ....

It seems that the beautiful "Lullaby" will not appear on "Old Ideas". Is it safe to assume that Leonard has made a definitive studio recording to be released one day?
My heart sings "Lullaby" almost every day meanwhile

Leonard told me in Summer 2010 that he had recorded a completely different version of Lullaby so, yes, I suppose there is a definitive studio recording of the song - or at least, as definitive as a Leonard recording can be until it has finally been released to the public.
Personally though, I haven't given up hope that the song might appear on Old Ideas. After all, if Leonard has recorded a completely different version then it's not necessarily one of the songs that were previewed on the recent tours is it .......?
I guess we will all know for sure soon enough!
