I agree .. but may you enjoy judging the semi finalists! I for one would be happy with something more informal .. a 100 people in a tapas bar for example ...as the point is to meet each other and celebrate Leonard's birthday not necessarilyto have a memorable meal .. If you follow he thread from the beginnig what started out as ameal for up to 30 is now turning into something completely different ... I am just thankful and happy with anything you arrange!

I love the expression "semi-finalist". You guys know how to make this a competition and that is fair enough. We are not a random group of Dylanians but a well sorted delegation of Cohenites. Only the best qualify for Barcelona. Paul and his low level knowledge in football might be an exception, well here we have the crack thing again.

I'm with Paul. The company and the opportunity to socialise is more important than the food.
Good luck to Toni and friends finding a suitable venue. It's much appreciated.

Maarten, please include number 99 which just sent me a message:

Who'll be the lucky next?
Cheers, Jordi

I'm with Paul and Margaret. Meeting fellow members and fans and celebrating LC are first and foremost in my book. It might be easier to find someplace where we can gather informally over a drink (and food for those who want it) rather than a place that can accomodate 100 at a sit down meal.
Much appreciation to Toni, Jorcx, Maarten, and any others for coordinating this and the hard work put in to make this happen. It will definitely be a highlight!
Best regards,
Mary

We need something like this in the UK too.
Maybe we can have a webcam at both places and watch each other celebrate Leonards birthday!

You attended Liverpool concert with your 12 year old - I attended with my 10 year old boy. We are planning to go to the Barcelona concert and also watch FC Barcelona beat Athletico Madrid at the Nou Camp. We have been previously and the bad news is that the game can be moved at relatively short notice by the TV people, although its highly likely to be that weekend still.

Thanks for that. I will be alone in Barcelona (though Luka would love to come I am sure!) .. and do not arrive until the Sunday so I will have to wait I guess until they confirm the exact date!

I'm in agreement with Paul. Maybe meeting in a bar that has a large open area or beer garden might suit
everyone better, or at least be easier to arrange! It would be less formal and provide a better opportunity
to move around and chat.

As I understand it, all these arrangements relate to the lunch on September 21, even though the thread is headed Barcelona Celebration 20-09-2009.
What about Sunday evening? Who is planning to go on Sunday evening? Are we going to have name tags on Sunday too? I'm sure I will recognise quite a few people there but there will be many more that I don't know!
