The Leonard Cohen Event 2010 will be in Krakow, Poland

I nearly suggested Liverpool,but the lack of a Leonard Cohen connection stopped me.
Krakow feels and sounds right.
With return flights costing only £40(including taxes) from Liverpool,I might visit earlier and make my mistakes (and apologies) prior to 2010!
I wonder if Leonard realises that Liverpool is capital of culture for 2008 and should be included in all tour plans.
The Philharmonic Hall would be ideal for a few evenings of poetry and music.

I think I'll try to make my way to Krakow for this. I lived and worked in Poland for five years from 1996, including a short spell in Krakow itself, and can vouch for the beauty of the city, and the depth of appreciation many Poles have for Leonard Cohen's work. I acquired some of my LC CDs from the marketplace at Plac Defilad in the centre of Warsaw.

It will be no hardship at all to return to the country and the city of Krakow again, or to share some of the pleasure Mr C has given us all over the years, and especially during the UK concerts last year.

My congratulations to the Polish organising committe - it will be nice to have something to look forward to so far ahead. I have read the thread and don't think that anywhere is stated roughly what time of the year the event takes place?

I think the Krakow committee will announce the basic details soon, actually VERY soon!

I really hope to make the Krakow event. I'll certainly try my best to get to it. Ireland and Poland have
developed very close links over the last number of years, and long may that continue. I've wanted to
visit Poland for ages and this is the ideal excuse to go. Looking forward to getting all the details.

This Cohen lad is costing me a fortune, but hey,
it's worth it!

We will try to be at this event, as well. It will require some careful planning, but it is a good possibility.

Dan and I met our families in Italy 4 years ago, and we are in love with everything about Europe; the history is incredible.

Maybe we can take it back to North America in 2012 -- I think Victoria would be a good place!

Yes that`s true,some people say that the Irish and the Polish have something
in common. I think it was one of the reasons why, when I was in Dublin
in June last year to attend unforgettable Leonard`s concerts in Royal
Kilmainham ,I felt at home.
I am sure you,your friends and all folks from all over the world will feel

I would love to come to Newfoundland in 2012--that is a trip I would definitely consider...I have appreciated your comments on the forum and would love to meet you too. Have visited Gros Morne but never got to St John's. Still have very strong visual and auditory memories of my trip to 'the rock'.

Something is telling me that I am destined to go to this event. First, I read these posts this morning, then I called my son who is teaching English in Warsaw and he told me that he is on a mini vacation in Krakow, then I picked up the travel section of the Saturday paper and this is on the front page. I'd better start saving soon!.

Hi mollydog, well you got three signs that probably are pointing you to go to the 2010 event. I am thinking about it also. And I have to say that a big part of the appeal is that the event is being held in Krakow. I hear it is a very charming city with still much of the Old Word charm of Eastern Europe. We are very fortunate to have the event put on by Polish Cohenites offering us their hospitality and inside view to their city.
