OK Jack, let's make it a tradition! The sound clip is (and has all the time been) at
http://www.leonardcohenfiles.com/silentnight.mp3 and I added the link now also to
the Xmas card on the front page of The Files.
By the way, the sound clip was recorded in Brighton UK, on Dec 15, 1979.

Life is short, so choose a wish, and make it happen in 2008. What's the worst that can happen?

Happy Christmas and a Happy and peaceful New Year to all.

Eric.

Pete - have you received your much desired, much awaited special Christmas present from Santa yet? I believe it was sent by special delivery last week!

Have a wonderful holiday every one and (hopefully) see some of you in 2008.
With best wishes Padma and Harry.

Thanks much Jarkko.
I've always liked that little version that Leonard did. I even like the small laugh that is there at the beginning to remind us that a lot of true things gets laughed at.

Mostly around Christmas I will play the Sister Rosetta Thorpe version of "Silent Night" but I always want to leave some room for Leonard's version as well.

A happy festive season to you all - relax, indulge a little, enjoy your families and friends, stay safe and let's all keep the Xmas "good will" going throughout the coming year! :D

Cheers :)
Andrew (Darby)

P.S. For those in the southern hemisphere, try not to get badly sunburnt; for those in the northern hemisphere, don't get burnt by your heaters or fires! ;-)
