Thanks Lizzy.

It's much too cold in Norway to play racketball. :? So instead, I try to be creative with my adolesent fury. I also Headbang my head and play airdrums to my favorite music, or in the odd case: puncha random wall.

That's a very good point you make, about how it's only a game until you experience it. That's of course all too true.

The thing with us crazy kids is that we don't see it in context with actual murders, for us, lyrics such as these are about telling everything we don't like about the world to get stuffed. I can only wonder how we'll view it all after someone close gets murdered. One of our friends from another board was recently shocked to find out that his cousin and a friend had brutally slain a 26 year old friend, severed his head and set him afire. Awful stuff.

Yet I don't think that we are lessoned by our often lighthearted approach. We do not mistake "burn the priest" with "freedom" or "fight the power." We're not ignorant to the meaning of the actual words. I think having been exposed to extreme words like this gives us a sobriety that can help sustain us in life, because this way we aren't caught off guard by the unknown when for instance death should take a friend, it's more a familiar thing, because we've thought about death before. Also listening to music that deals with the subject can also be very cathartic.

As I've said, usually I try to be more sophisticated with my lyrics than the ordinary metal writer. As a general rule, profanity has no place in my lyrics. I often find profanity in lyrics to be really unfulfilling and disgusting, weather it's used by some Death Metal-band, or our Leonard.

Also the beacon that the f-word creates can often take away from the message I try to convey.
I have tried to conjur the foul will and Fury of some ancient spirit of the desert, having a deep hate towards life.
Profanity would only sully the project. I mean, what self respecting 3000 year old egyptian Phantom would employ the word 'fuck?'

Is it supposed to be funny? I think it is funny. You puke on them and then you swallow them whole, then you puke again, which makes sense since you just ate your own puke. That would make me puke again too.

Guys I think you should change tack and do a cover of "What a wonderful world" by Louis Armstrong. I think that would really shock your audience.

Haha - I should proof read the thing ONE more time, and try to pay attention to the actions this time. :?

Joney, while I appreciate the idea and the thinking behind it, I think it would be a very poor cover version. We're not in it to shock either, we just wanna play music that we like. We might cover Cohen one day, I don't know.
Besides, Lordi won Eurovision and the Children Of Bodom covered Britney Spears. That kind of stuff has lost it's shock value.

Hi Axel (cool name)

You should post some of your music on the forum. It is nice to see what young people are up to. I wish my kids liked Leonard. I posted a youtube video of some friends of my daughter who did a little gig in my living room earlier in the year. Here's the link http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=FBBjqyNdXaE

Good for you making some music and enjoying yourselves.

Thanks! Chose it myself, actually!

We haven't recorded anything yet, but when we do, you might hear a snippet or two. :D

Those kids tore up!

Glad you liked The Mumbles Axel. They have a site if you want to check it out. It is a hobby for them (they are only 17) but I think they are rather good.

I like the artwork on their site, Joney.

I listened to their Anniversary song about The Machine [? ~ forgive me if I've screwed that up, it's something like that :? ]. The Rocky Horror Picture Show came to mind as I listened, but can't remember which song.

They have a song called "I am the one you want" that is fantastic and all their young fans always want this sung too (no pun intended) and it gets a great reception. I think they have a video of it on their site. They did all the design themselves, pretty good isn't it.

Yes, it is good. They're doing very well. I like the sound of their music. I'll check tonite for the video you're talking about.

Axel ~ I meant to tell you that what I envisioned was indoor, racquetball courts, which we have many of here ;-) .

I'm told there is such a place, fifteen miles down the road. Hmm.
Also, Racketball and the like are games of finesse, which isn't really accessible for me when I am outraged.

Hi Joney ~

I've checked both their site and their MySpace and the song isn't on either one. Perhaps, you can mention it to them?

What was that cult film about the man-eating plant? It seems The Machine song reminds me of that, too.

Hi Axel ~

You know you and your body and psyche best for sure. I've tried racquetball a couple times many years ago. If it's finesse that was needed, it's finesse that I lacked. I hit the ball a couple times, but you can't play a game like that.

Hi Lizzy

I haven't checked their site in a while but you're right, the videos don't seem to show. I'll let them know, thanks for letting me know this. They have some videos on youtube. "Want" is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIl3jZBw ... CB&index=3 not bad for lads who were sixteen when they made it. The girls definitely love "want"! Robert (one of the Mumbles) has posted other videos on YouTube so if you click on his username 'robertzombie' (!) you can see others including my famous cream curtains.

Axel, I can't wait to see you on you tube.

Oh, now, Joney... I've already seen your famous cream curtains. We had a bit of discussion about them here, in fact. They were the backdrop for the first time you brought a video link to them here. 'Your' kids were all wearing black and the one with long, straight, black hair [I'm so jealous] swung it along with his body throughout the song, as I recall. Was that their Live performance of The Machine?

I'll go and watch "Want." It'll be good if they can get it up on their site, too. Thanks.

Alright! Joney! That's terrific!!! You must be so proud of them... only 16 with the song, singing, music, and the photography... I love the hand on the keyboard and the outdoor scenes [looking at him through the trees ~ kinda like "Blowup"]. They sure look like they would have loved the 60s.

Yes, Axel... seeing you and your friend on YouTube would be HUGELY fun!!!

Hai, Guize.

As it happens I am on the Tube, in various incarnations of performance. Nothing yet with Forrest, seeing as I've only met the sweet man one time, on the 20th of July 2006. I'm going back to Glasgow in the spring though, so keep you eyes pealed.

To view mine awesomeness:

As far as racketball and such.. When I'm mad, I'd just want to strike the ball as hard as possible, to destroy the little thing. So that's no good when those games are all about precision and discipline.
To quote one of my texts:
"I crush little things to vent my immortal fury." :)
